https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2021/02/25/atlantic-ocean-currents-weakening-amoc-gulf-stream/ALL that is happening is that the giant complex system (the atmosphere and oceans) is out of balance. We humans have altered the balance from our massive dumping of carbon products into the atmosphere and ocean. This has caused significant warming of the oceans.
This warming has caused a disruption of the ocean conveyor system by the massive melting of ice. The US Navy documented this over a decade ago - because this caused significant problems for underwater operations.
This slowing of ocean churn will cause both sides of the Atlantic to have altered weather patterns in both summer and winter. Rather - it IS causing it right now.
This is what happens when human actions alter the planet (and yet - we have altered the planet in several aspects).
The end result is that the planet will become much less habitable for humans. Remember that we are in the middle of the 6th major extinction event - the only one mainly caused by humans. And we are continuing to drive the planet towards being less habitable for humans.
Remember that 'goldilocks zone' that is talked about? This planet is approaching an edge band for it - and when (not if) it passes outside that band, we will have altered our planet so much that it is no longer sustainable for human life. Rather - the amount of human live that currently exists...
And what historically happens when humans are placed in situations that threaten their local survival? They either migrate or go to war. And both China and India are rapidly running out of potable water. China has had 3 rivers run dry, and the glaciers in the Himalayas (where both countries get most of their water) have shrunk to 30% of the size just 2 decades ago.
Right now - some experts say that survival of humans is less than 50%. So we will most likely join this 6th major extinction event that we helped cause.

The climate has always changed and changed at different rates and different frequencies.

Climate has always been variable and at some points in history has changed drastically. Many of those drastic changes predate modern man. That's what my high school science classes taught me.

There have been higher carbon levels in the past, so what makes you so sure that the current levels are all caused by man. And, even if it turns out that man did cause it, we are looking at something in the neighborhood of a 2 degree Celsius. Surely we can deal with that small difference.

You mean that all-knowing, all-loving, God has decided to kill innocent people?
Yeah, that sounds about right.

Death is a part of life Frank I knew my statement would pull someone’s chain.
The physical body ceases to exist but our spirit is forever.
God just might be upset and tired of the wickedness of this world.
Look around you and see all of the suffering. That’s caused by man not
God. U know like hunger theft murder of the innocent a disregard for human life.
U condone the deaths of millions of innocent unborn babies.
U support a party that supports child mutilation how sick is that.
All the crap I mentioned going on in this world really.

What a disingenuous alarmist you are. I read the whole report and exactly Nothing in it blames this phenomena on human causes. Yet you interject your biased human-caused theory 5 times in your comment. Your Globalist Leftist malevolent propaganda that you have to make up is not to be taken even halfway seriously.
Why doesn’t anyone bring up world population growth when discussing any of the “global problems? Here’s one chart that condense’s growth numbers down to a few years. Pick a problem and overlay a growth chart. Interesting how they track pretty close.

It's not brought up because it's completely obvious that the earth cannot sustain the number of people on it much less further growth, but no one is doing anything about it. Why? Because they say we need more young people to pay taxes to support old retired people. That a pretty unimaginative argument.

The WP is promoting nonsense. The climate has gone through cycles for eons and will (is) continue to do so. While we may be contributing to the change slightly, blaming all of this on humans is folly.
