I have taken language courses in Spanish, Italian, German and French, and French was the hardest because there was very little relationship between the way the word was printed and its pronunciation.

Absolutely right you are, do not forget grammar who is a doozy. I have to look sometimes for words on how it is spelled, verbs, and so forth.

I don't have to pardon you, that's good enough for one who knows it to understand it, look at my English, very rudimentary compare to all, the problem is that I educate myself, the wrong way, but, at least it works so far for 40 some years.

" Pardonnez-mois. Mais je l'etudie Francaise il y a cinquante ans. "

"Pardonnez moi, ou, excusez moi, mais j'ai etudier le Francais il y a cinquante ans"

I'm not an expert by any stretch of the

imagination, but the French language is very difficult and it still is for me, we left France in 56, I just finish school so,

Anyway, nice to talk to you and have a good weekend
I don't have to pardon you, that's good enough for... (show quote)

Given how you butcher English after all these years of hiding here...how do you possess the temerity to criticize anyone's less than perfect French?

T'es folle.

Without knowing where "here" is, that doesn't mean anything. If here is some places in Montana, that's easy to believe. If "here" is Arizona, it stretches credulity.

We live in Oregon, which you would know if you had bothered to pay attention to some of my posts that you have ridiculed.

The proposal was high speed rail between Washington D.C. and Boston and between Los Angeles and San Francisco rather than flights. France has banned short flights, but they have high speed rail. I have traveled on fast trains in various countries. Their governments adequately support rail as a public good, unlike our government. Amtrak is a disgrace. I still prefer it to driving when I travel from mid Pennsylvania to NYC.

They have spent countless millions on the high speed rail in California and have nothing to show for it. Agree with you about Amtrak. I do have one question. Why should the government support rail. We should not be picking winners and losers in private business. Airlines are already struggling because of the stupid c***d lockdowns and travel restrictions in the past 18 months, Now you are saying we should spend even more money on rail to try to take business away from the airlines. That's nuts.

Travel back then was an experience to be enjoyed, not a method of torture.

Yes, unless one is rich enough to afford first class seats, air travel is today's steerage.

Just because you are mad at God...does not mean God is mad at you...
