This is very sad!
All these negative comments and personal attacks do not belong in this forum.
We're here to help and respect each other, not insult.
I, for one, am very disappointed, and hope it doesn't continue.

If you believe any post doesn’t belong you can report it then Admin will review it and make a final decision.

Mac, pay no attention to him. He is not worth your time. The only thing he is any good at is baiting folks into responding to his constant and persistent trolling, administration pays no attention, and neither should you. Photography seems to be a sore spot with him, but his trolling can change the way you feel about UHH.
Folks that have doubts about themselves act out on line to get attention. The more attention they get, the more they seem to need it. Folks here on UHH have learned to ignore it mostly. His posts are like the mosquito you hear buzzing by your ear at night, you know it's there, but you can't quite swish it, and you continue to hear that buzzing the rest of the night, and I know it can be aggravating.
Like I said, better not to scratch the bite (troll), just makes the bite and buzzing worse.
Good luck to you my friend and keep on shooting until the end.

Thank you for the wise words. From now on I will endeavor to give what he says the full attention they deserve, which is absolutely nothing.

Most people especially in the USA don't understand it. That is why there is no way anyone can bring back manufacturing to the USA.

It's my opinion whatever you think is entirely up to you. If I found a company in Vietnam I would have the factory in Vietnam. There is nothing wrong with that. You can put the manufacturing plant near where you consumers are and that does make sense. But to have your manufacturing moves to other countries for the sake of saving labor cost I can't support that. The same reason US companies moved their production overseas. I wouldn't want a Leica made in Japan. I would have no problem buying a DJI drone made in China because the company started there.
Nikon has to move all of their camera production to Thailand and they are #3. Why is that the #1 Canon makes most of their cameras in Japan and they didn't lose money? All the EOS-R series and almost all the EOS are made in Japan.
I am a Nikon fan boy.

It’s your opinion also. But kind of nice to see other companies faced with this and not just the good old USA. For years the Japanese had the reins of most production including cars and everything else made. Can’t feel bad for them now in 2021.

When Americans indicated a preference for smaller more fuel efficient cars in the 1970s, American auto makers continued to make gas guzzlers. Americans bought the smaller cars they wanted and gave foreign makers a toe hold they never relinquished.

Instead of investing profits to upgrade their steel making procedures American steel manufacturers stayed with their outdated methods and used profits for dividends. Meanwhile Germany and Japan did upgrade and were able to make higher quality steel at a lower price.

The failure to be able compete with foreign companies lies directly on the shoulders of American corporate leadership.

Agree. They gave away most of their own market.

All this talk about Nikon. I purchased my first Nikon in 1972. Nikkormat with 50mm f1.4 lens. Went with Nikon due to the reputation for Optics. Seemed to me to be the most important aspect of a Camera. My Grandson is now using it. Works as well as it did in 1972. I now have 3 other 35mm Nikons all in working order. Yes, I have Nikon DSLRs. I love my Nikons! Attached photo was taken with my Nikon S2 which was produced in the mid 1950s.

My Sunbeam Tiger was no gas miser, but damn if it wasn't the most fun car to drive of all the cars I've owned. And yes, it was small.
