For all the negativity about Nikon’s supposed problems, I see many Nikon banners at The Open today. My guess is they are not going away.
Anyone can advertise, even the now global #3 camera manufacturer.
Oh, no! Sounds like Ford versus Chevy discussions!

Yawn.
I use Nikon and all this hoopla bores me.
Whatever will happen will happen. If Nikon goes defunct the equipment will continue to function. And the planet will continue to turn on it’s axis.
It’s a sad commentary that with all the up going on in the world that anyone would give a rat’s about something so simple minded.

Suggest you edit your potty mouth posting while you still can. This isn't The Attic.

And yet, instead of saving the world, you took the time to tell everybody you are bored. What a joke!

Potty mouth—how cute. I keep forgetting how easily offended the younger set have become. Sorry, I hope the words I used didn’t cause you too much distress.
And thank you for making my point about how peripheral items can be blown out of proportion in relation to what is really important.

No, you made the same mistake Linda did. Focusing on peripheral comments instead the core idea.
In view of global warming, the COVID virus, the heatwave in the western US, the looming water shortage, on and on. How Nikon is doing is irrelevant. There are more important thing to worry about.

You seemed happy on June 7 when you shared the news of your new
Nikon purchase:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-699787-1.htmlI am living the deadly heat wave, fires and drought in the Northwest. I don't expect to have discussions about it in a photography forum, however.

And yet you concern yourself with what's going on here. Considering your own comments, the only reason you must be hanging out in this thread is to give the rest of us a good laugh. For that I thank you.

Yea, Ford was making Cars before any of the other companies, Hand-built, the variety of the early parts were bought to the car in a specific stall, around 1910 in Detroit, years before the 1st moving assembly line, built by Ford in the newly built Highland Park assembly plant just a few miles north of Detroit, Michigan.

What you are going through is an absolute disaster, and it will most likely get worse before it gets better. And here we are having a discussion about it on a photography forum.

Unlike Canon, Nikon is a global scientific instrument company. Unlike Canon, Nikon makes their own glass from their own manufactured blanks, only one other global company does that. Unlike Canon, Nikon's equipment has been used by NASA since it's inception and still uses Nikon rangefinders and digital camera's for positioning on the international space station. Unlike Canon, Nikon donates Millions of dollars in medical equipment to undeveloped third world countries.
And I never knock Canon, they make some of the worlds finest camera's. I know you "TROLL" post all the time but I had to respond this time.

Nikon is a global scientific instrument company, the camera division makes up about 12-18% of their overall sales.
About 8 years ago Nikon realized their camera division was falling behind so they upped their R&R and their young engineer hires are starting to make inroads in their camera division.
But without Canon, Sony, and many others we would not have the competition we need to force companies to constantly improve their products.
I salute them all.
