Flowing lines and classic aerodynamic styling
Anyone know what year it is?
Nice shots. I remember seeing them on the road when I was a kid. Late 1940s?
looks like a 1949 Buick model 56
That bumper guard doesn't look like the normal one, but the car itself looks like a 1949.
Its design beauty pleases the eye. I feel the urge to buy one to tool around in.

I think you have a 1948 Buick Roadmaster.
BEAUTY. I would have guessed late fifties. Really futuristic looking!

Looks like a 49 Buick Roadmaster (I don’t believe the 48s had the distinctive 4 “portholes”). Notice the rotating antenna in the top center of the windshield - there’s an internal knob to turn it up and down. It was the 2nd year for Buick’s Dynaflow transmission (note the trunk logo) -I believe it was the first automatic transmission to use a torque converter.
The styling is so sleek and beautiful. I had forgotten Buick had made those beautiful cars, but one family that went to our church in my youth had one. I also did not recall that Buick had the old Dynaflow transmission in 1959.
My Dad had a 1951 Buick with the Dynaflow two speed automatic. In looking at your last photo, my Dad's car had the identical Dynaflow shift lever on the steering column. This is the first time I have seen this car posted on UHH. A car this sleek should have been a collector's dream car, But I think that has not happened to it.
Thank you all for your comments. I'd never heard the term "sedanette" before.
So 1949 was the first year for Buick's iconic portholes?
I wonder if a convertible version would have ruined the lines.
Portholes and Harley Earl, an interesting connection.
