I am in the market for a new Nikon. Just looking where the best place to purchase online.
B&H or Adorama. Both have great service.
B&H, Nikon USA, Roberts Camera, Adorama, etc.
You'll want to checks several places, but make sure they are reputable. I like Adorama.com and bhphotovideo.com. If you are going used, I like KEH.com. Be careful when you see a low ball price on a new camera as it's probably a grey market camera.
Prices for a legitimate, US market, new-in-the-box Nikon are going to be within a few cents no matter where you buy them. Most folks here have a couple of favorites, including B&H and Adorama in New York. My three local photography stores sell at the identical prices, and sales tax is no longer a factor, since any legitimate dealer will collect it for the destination state, no matter where they are located. Stores selling below the prevailing prices are generally selling products imported through other than the established channels or, in some case, pulled from factory packaging and sold piece by piece (usually both). Minimum resale pricing is set by the importing organization for all legitimate products.

We have no sales tax in Montana, and do not get charged tax. If you are in a state without sales tax, expect the same (for the moment).
Other than the ones already mentioned New York Camera and Video is also reputable.
Hunt's here in NE is also very good.
I would love a great deal but I have been here long enough to know that I will be paying the prevailing price. That is ok.
B&H, Adorama, Roberts Photo, all good dealers. Just avoid dealers like 42d St. Photo and Abe’s of Maine. (which is in New York or New Jersey) They are both bait and switch sellers and will want to sell you a grey market camera.
There aren't a lot of great deals on new - if you think you have found one, follow the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
Curiously, you may also want to check out Amazon.com. Since we order so much from them I had more than $250.00 saved up in Amazon Rewards to use as a discount when I bought my D850. Brought down the price real nice.
Crutchfield is an authorized Nikon dealer. I've been impressed with them. I've purchased two Nikon cameras and two speedlights from them. I like that they package the products for shipping better than other companies. They put packing peanuts in the shipping box. I've been disappointed how B & H Photo ships lately. They might put one piece of bubble wrap on one side of the product in the shipping box - not adequate.
Amazon is an authorized Nikon dealer. I buy from them all the time.
But, be sure the item says Sold and Shipped by Amazon. Some of their vendors may not be as reputable.
