I am under 65 and so is my wife. We live in Florida.

This afternoon I received an e-mail informing me that I could make an appointment for the jab... I saw it a few minutes after it was sent.

Quite frankly I was leery because of the issue many folks reported when signing online.

Lo and behold I signed up and have my jab tomorrow at 0915. I asked my wife if she had received the e-mail. She did not. So I signed her up to... 0915 too!

It seems that at the speed the website responded I was one of the first online to sign up.

Congratulations. My wife and I have had both of our vaccines with no side effects. Glad you could get signed up.

You, lucky Floridians. 😊
I am in Quebec, Canada. Registered two days ago for my age group - 70+ (I am 72). The earliest date available was April 28. My wife is 67 and she is too young and will have to wait. Darn.

Out of curiosity, which vaccine are the Québécois receiving?

Hard to believe that some people are more afraid of flu-like symptoms for a day or so than they are of contracting Covid. I had my second Pfizer shot a couple weeks ago, and only had a mildly sore arm. This weekend I'm going to eat in a restaurant and see a movie in a theater for the first time in a year. I'm now waiting until good friends I haven't seen in a year get their shots, and travel to visit them. Even though it's a new normal, it's worth it.

Makes no sense to risk Covid, than a day or two of discomfort. Survival of the fittest comes to mind.

Congratulations. I got mine - the first of two - a couple of weeks ago, and thankfully there were no side effects

Congrats! What a milestone.

I got my second dose a month ago... I am feeling much less anxiety about COVID-19 now, but still wearing the mask. My wife had her first dose two weeks ago. She’s so ready to get back to her office. Skype and Teams are getting old.

The sore arm folks experience after Moderna vaccine is sufficiently common that it now has a name:
"Moderna Arm."

Got Moderna arm with both shots, but it only lasted a day. My arm is back to it's normal level of age-related soreness.

It may matter which vaccine you receive.

Per new real data from Israel, collected from observing their large-scale vaccination program, the Pfizer vaccine is 97% effective at preventing symptomatic cases of Covid-19 and 94% effective at preventing asymptomatic infection. So chances are, you won't get sick nor become contagious.

Compare that to Johnson&Johnson -- being heavily promoted by our government and the media with the selling point of "one-and-done" - when data show it is only 66-72% effective in preventing "moderate to severe disease," and 85% effective in preventing severe disease. But they don't provide their data on preventing all disease nor on preventing asymptomatic disease. So you only need one shot but at least 1 in 3 will still get sick, and still pass it on to others, but will survive.

And - even mild/moderate cases can lead to significant prolonged symptoms, another tidbit omitted by those promoting J&J.

Which vaccine would you rather get?

I'm not sure there has been a comparable release of any "real world" data on Moderna yet.

The data on Pfizer reflects the results in Israel where 4 million (out of a population of 9 million) have been vaccinated, and data from all patients are entered into national health databases.

Johnson & Johnson, on the other hand, is currently having to contend with recommendations that Native Americans and Native Alaskans should avoid the J&J vaccine due to low efficacy in the 30% range.

As in, fear of the needle leads to The Darwin Award? ;-)

It's been a long, strange trip since March of last year. Hopefully, the trip will be over soon.
