I got my second Moderna shot a few days ago. After the first shot I didn't have any effect from it but the day after the second shot I was feverish, had a headache, leg muscles ached, and was cold enough to put on a coat in the house and turn up the heat. However, the symptoms went away by the time I went to bed and I felt fine. I don't know if it was because of the vaccine but I'm going to blame it anyway.

I have had both shots and no side effects or soreness. I am a lucky one for sure.

It may matter which vaccine you receive.

Per new real data from Israel, collected from observing their large-scale vaccination program, the Pfizer vaccine is 97% effective at preventing symptomatic cases of Covid-19 and 94% effective at preventing asymptomatic infection. So chances are, you won't get sick nor become contagious.

Compare that to Johnson&Johnson -- being heavily promoted by our government and the media with the selling point of "one-and-done" - when data show it is only 66-72% effective in preventing "moderate to severe disease," and 85% effective in preventing severe disease. But they don't provide their data on preventing all disease nor on preventing asymptomatic disease. So you only need one shot but at least 1 in 3 will still get sick, and still pass it on to others, but will survive.

And - even mild/moderate cases can lead to significant prolonged symptoms, another tidbit omitted by those promoting J&J.

Which vaccine would you rather get?

The wife and I got the Pfizer vaccine. The other two variations were not available in our area at the time of our first jab.

I’m getting second Moderna shot in four days. I’ve talked to some friends who have received second Moderna and they all agreed the reaction to #2 was worse than #1. One said he felt like he’d been run over by a semi.

Best advice is don’t plan anything for the day after your second shot. Also, some experience a skin reaction a week after the first shot. The worst part of the delayed reaction for us was that it was a surprise and sent us to Urgent Care.

I am under 65 and so is my wife. We live in Florida.

This afternoon I received an e-mail informing me that I could make an appointment for the jab... I saw it a few minutes after it was sent.

Quite frankly I was leery because of the issue many folks reported when signing online.

Lo and behold I signed up and have my jab tomorrow at 0915. I asked my wife if she had received the e-mail. She did not. So I signed her up to... 0915 too!

It seems that at the speed the website responded I was one of the first online to sign up.

There are some areas where the COVID vaccine is readily and easily available and obtained. The varied and inconsistent ordering, shipping and receiving procedures for the various areas of the country have impacted the administration of the vaccine for many individuals. I am happy to hear that people are getting the cvaccine and will have protection against the virus. I just wish more could the opportunity sooner rather than later.

I got my second moderna two weeks ago today. The first injection my arm was a little sore. The second injection the same thing, however I also had chills and body aches for 24 or so hours. I am very glad I got the injection, even though I will still wear a mask and social distance.

We both have gotten both shots of Pfizer a couple of weeks ago. Neither of us had any side effects at all... not even a sore arm.

A fellow got his 2nd vaccine shot but on the way home he had severe blurry vision.
He made it safely home and called the clinic to ask if he should call his Doctor or go directly to the hospital.
The clinic said don't do either but comeback to the clinic and pick up your glasses.

Returned from the jab an hour ago...

A few comments, most positive and one sort of negative.

When we arrived there was a small line. As they called for our time frame we learned that we COULD NOT have the jab as it was to start for over 60 Monday as per the 'governor' orders.

A FEMA guy was there. He was not happy and wanted to report the issue to the Webmaster. To do that he needed a copy of the e-mails we received. Of course, I did not have it. One man with the same issue had it on his phone and showed it. When the FEMA person asked to take a screenshot with his own phone the other guy who was already huffy and puffy got seriously upset and down right offensive. Lucky for me, a woman also had it and let the FEMA guy take a picture.

My wife went back to the car, no big deal. I stayed to chat with the woman then some guy who was aware of the incident came out and said it was no issue, and they would take us. Turns out the jab folks had not been advised that the rule had changed the day before and had no one was informed.

To make a long story short we got our vaccination with a slight delay, NO ISSUE. The huffy and puffy ****? He had left and well, good riddance.

While talking to the FEMA folks, before the issue was solved, he told me that the next time I should sign up for a 10~11 appointment, that there was no on at this time.

Lo and behold, while waiting to 'freed' from the 'cattle pen' I noticed that he was deadly serious, there was no one, zip, nada... THAT is the negative about the whole thing. Folks are just not coming in for jabs for some reason. If you are younger and show up they will not take you because of the rigidity of the system even if they have what is needed to vaccinate.

So, an experience that is positive overall.

-------------------
* Cattle pen: You have to sit in an area for at least 15 minute, more if you have a declared allergy. I had to wait 40 minutes... My wife declared an allergy I did not know she had...

From what I'm reading it seems that most side effects are from the 2nd shot of the Moderna vaccine. The Pfizer seems to have lower side effects. BTW this is fairly new information as more people are being vaccinated every day. They both have 95% effectiveness, so the side effects are just a minor inconvenience IMO. What I'm reading may just be anecdotal though.

Congrats! Right place at the right time! Same happened with me here in NJ back at the end of December. Turned out that I was the first person to receive my 1st dose at that location.
