Curious, are you talking a more or less 1-1 shoot where you're speaking with them or a venue and you're part of a large group? Large gathering, Bill Clinton, Dick Cheney, "W" Bush, Ringo Starr (and other musicians), various baseball and football players (college and pro). 1-1, a handful of astronauts, a MOH recipient, more congressmen and senators than I can remember, a couple of Playboy/Penthouse ladies, about every SECVA since VA became a cabinet level position, Richard and Kyle Petty, Debbie Reynolds, Bob and Liddy Dole (separate occasions) and Chuck Robb (odd story with this one) to name a few. Now there was this time I met/spoke to Neil Armstrong, but it was a chance meeting in a restaurant restroom.
Curious, are you talking a more or less 1-1 shoot ... (show quote)

Yes, thaz a verrrry major distinction. When I replied I listed only the up close stuff. Even if it was fairly quick and wordless, there hadda be a situation where the subject knows it’s my job to document the visit, presentation or whatever. Tom Brady on the field or the Pope on his balcony, through a 500mm, doesn’t qualify in my book.

Linda Vaughn (Miss Hurst), back in the 70s I went to an Indycar race at the Ontario Motor Speedway (California), I was there for the racing, not the celebrities, but when I saw Linda's headlights heading towards me, I couldn't help myself, snap, snap, snap. That is the only
celebrity I ever got on film purposely.

Red Skelton, at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA , February 1979. I attended his live show there and used a Petri FT SLR loaded with KodaColor 400 ASA (ISO) film and had it pushed to 800 for the prints. The results were quite good.
