Curious, are you talking a more or less 1-1 shoot where you're speaking with them or a venue and you're part of a large group? Large gathering, Bill Clinton, Dick Cheney, "W" Bush, Ringo Starr (and other musicians), various baseball and football players (college and pro). 1-1, a handful of astronauts, a MOH recipient, more congressmen and senators than I can remember, a couple of Playboy/Penthouse ladies, about every SECVA since VA became a cabinet level position, Richard and Kyle Petty, Debbie Reynolds, Bob and Liddy Dole (separate occasions) and Chuck Robb (odd story with this one) to name a few. Now there was this time I met/spoke to Neil Armstrong, but it was a chance meeting in a restaurant restroom.

Good precision.
Michele Mouton, 1-1 despite being in a group. She was not happy already and became irate because I used a flash. She later apologized for her reaction.
Raymond Barre, in a social event I was photographing.

John F. Kennedy two months before his death, Pope Paul, Apollo 13 astronauts, Hubert Humphrey (lots of photos of "the Happy Warrior" and his wife, Muriel, at a Minnesota Renaissance Faire. My favorite is one of him jousting).

So, you missed the opportunity to take a picture of Neil Armstrong in the restroom?

I didn't have a camera. One of times in my life when I flat out asked "excuse me, are you..?" I did say if I sent him a photo later would he be kind enough to sign it. He smiled and said yes and to use his Charlottesville address. He kept his word. Nice guy.

Bob, you photographed JFK? Please tell the story! Is the photo postable?

Barbara Streisand in 1968 at a free concert she gave in Central Park, NY. She sang for two hours in the rain. I sat on the wet grass (in my suit) listening to her, as it rained (no umbrella).

Now I get upset when my shoes get wet.

Neil Armstrong, Bob Hope...sounds to me like you attended one of the ‘69 South East Asia Hope Christmas venues.

There were two Fillmores back in the '60's - great Rock Music Venues. West in San Fran, East in NYC East Village. Damn near everyone famous in the day played one or both through the mid late '60's. Must be getting old and making the "everyone will know" mistake. Sorry! .

Bill Graham's Filmore East was about as famous a place as you could get if you liked music. I saw a show there back in 1968/69 that started with Shanana, then Santana, Three Dog Night, and the headliner was Canned Heat who had become very famous after Woodstock. As I exited the theatre, there on the hood of a car, greeting people was Mama Cass Elliot! The place was a magnet for famous acts!!

I am still a Dylan fan (on vinyl) but I can't recall seeing anyone at Fillmore East who wasn't LOUD. Had forgot Ian & Sylvia, will revisit their music, thanks! Canadian or am I misremembering?

They are indeed Canadian. I don't believe they are still married to one another.
