Do any of you Nikon shooters use refurbished cameras? If so, any problems? Also, which vendors do you patronize? Thanks for your replys.

I have several refurbished cameras I have bought over the last 6 yrs. Most from Cameta Camera (business since sold) & one from either B&H or KEH. Never have had a problem with any of them.

I agree with Bultaco B and H never problems and if so they take care of it right away.

I got a Nikon d810 refurb from Adorama 3 years ago. It arrived in a Nikon box marked as a refurb by Nikon. It appeared to be absolutely new, and the shutter count was 26. It has worked flawlessly since then. I have been delighted with the camera.

I only buy refurbished directly from Nikon after getting two cameras and one lens that had problems. So far the three careras and four lenses from Nikon have been perfect.

I bought both of my cameras from KEH. They haven't been refurbished, just used but I haven't had any problems with them.

I have my doubts about this...as an example; if the inspection shows that the shutter functions correctly but has a high count I doubt that will replaced or even adjusted it. Most likely only the count will be reset. Used means worn and the amount is unknown. I have a hard time believing a repaired camera is as good as a new one.

Its not and that is why it costs less.

As I said earlier used and refurbished are two different animals. These are cameras that were purchased new and for whatever reason were returned. At that point Nikon inspects and calibrates them to exacting standards. They are better than new as they've been gone through completely. They're also guaranteed, so if there is a problem (which is extremely rare), they'll replace said camera. You may have a hard time believing that a refurbished camera is as good as a new one , but what if there is a malfunction with a new one ? It goes back to Nikon and is brought up to specs. I'm not trying to talk you into buying refurbs, I'm just letting you know that I've had perfect success in purchasing refurbs and save a bundle in the process. For what it's worth I have COMPLETE faith in Nikon refurbs.

Purchased a D7000 am very happy with the camera. Had it about 3 years. The only problem is with the company not the camera. I ordered the camera and paid my money, waited 4 weeks called the company they looked for about 3 day before they found the order. They offered me a small discount if I decided to order another camera. But as I said I have been very happy with my D7000.

Please correct me if i'm wrong. If you buy used from B&H, Adorama, or KEH, or the like, you are buying used equipment. That is totally different than refurbished. I do not believe that much of what they buy and then sell used is refurbished. If you look at items none say they are refurbished. That does not mean the equipment is in poor condition. I purchased a used lens from Nikon, and they specifically stated it was refurbished.

B&H and Adorama both sell refurbished that come straight from Nikon. Those are distinct from their used inventory.

Have had good success with MPB.Bought 3 cameras from them and a few lenses. Altho they are not refurbed you can find some with very low shutter counts. Just bought an 850 with 4560 SC for $2397 with 6 month warranty. Nikon refurb was $2799.

Bought Nikon Refurbished Z6 from Adorama in December. When it arrived, checked shutter count. It was “4”! Camera was perfect in every way. Could not tell it was not brand new. Very happy with it.

I have used several Refurbished Nikon cameras from B&H and Camera, when they were in business. I never had one problem with 8 different cameras over the last 10 years.
