No one owes you any proof. Your lack of cred is YOUR lack of cred. Sources are not in question. It’s you personally that has no cred. Matters not at all what your actual argued case is. The sooner you figger that out, the less entertaining you will be. So make demands, post charts and links, and generally carry on as if you are for real. It’s your forte. Two minutes to curtain !

But he NEEDS your reply, and don’t we all each owe a little something for the entertainment, few coins in the tips jar so to speak ?

We see many dire warnings on UHH. The end of DSLRs. The demise of Nikon. Etc. For the most part these warnings come from people who do not use the equipment they are predicting the failure of. For example mirrorless users predicting DSLRs are finished, or Canon/Sony users predicting the collapse of Nikon. It seems the people initiating these posts get perverse enjoyment from seeing other brands have difficulties.

Your statement is very true. It's like the Era in which I grew up in, I had this neighbor who as my friend preached how great that Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouths were in comparison to other Car Manufacturers. His dad drove Chrysler and my Dad drove Pontiacs, so as kids that think their Father's know everything and mine did, at least to me. Well, my friend and I were big into Astrophotography and we decided to build our own cement pedestal for his Celestron or mine to be able to mount it and stay out all night when the temperatures were in single digits, and we would shoot. I was 14 at the time and he was 16. We built this monstrosity and we ran electrical up through this 5ft. pedestal and provided power to our tracking base for our scopes. We submitted pics to every magazine and Astronomy group that we could find. One day we received a phone call while we were getting ready to set up for observing and shooting that night, The caller was Scientific American and they let us know that 2 of our many Nebulae shots were going to be in the following month's publication. They also wanted to come out and do a write up on us, due to our ages. They came out and they could not believe what we actually built on our own with no help from our parents or anyone. Even the neighbors gave their testimony on what we had done. It was the following year that my friend was going to Cal Tech on a full ride and I was going to U of M. He received his PH.D by 22 and was a professor at MIT. I settled for Pre-Med then went on to Major in AstroPhysics. Now, I remember hearing about Celestron having financial difficulties and everyone in the field was talking about it. So I thought if they really were going to delve out of the telescope market then I would have to find someone else, because I loved what I did and still do. Well, to end this on a great note, these 2 friends went off one day to Palomar Observatory and basically took the place over and ground some new glass on our own and left the Observatory better than when we first arrived. We did build a few scopes for some serious people when it came to Astronomy and we were both able to retire by 42yrs. me and 44yrs. my dearest Friend Mike. So, since we are on this forum, you do understand that if Nikon were to sell their Photography lineup to someone else, perhaps that someone else could take them to a greater mountain than the one that they are on now. I will never give up Photography no matter who is in the game and I don't think that you will either.

Reading other people's stories can give you inspiration and hope and the confidence you can afford a mirrorless camera from Canon.

I would want one only if Sony mirrorless cameras were not available ;)

Don’t really give half a ratzazz about Olympus’s or Nikon’s books. But mebbe I should panic about Celestron ? Inquiring minds need bad news !!!

I absolutely love it. Way too cool. But, I was seriously talking about what was going on about 50yrs. ago. You are right though, I think that people worry too much about what they cannot control. Whatever is going to happen will. I do like your rig there, when did you set that up?

Had the C90 a looooong time. Does the s/n tell you how old it is ? (See photo.)

Working for the DOT (NY State) it was sometimes useful. With film it needed a major tripod. Digitally with IBIS it’s now a whole lot more portable, although still hardly an essential tool. Sometimes one just gets a hunger for donuts ;-)

It's about...

Nikon’s operating loss for the April to September period of 2020 fell to a deficit of $449 million, which is in stark contrast to the $168 million surplus the company reported in the same period of 2019. For the fiscal year ending in March of 2021, Nikon is expected to post a colossal $720 million loss compared to a surplus of $65 million in the previous fiscal year.

I understand that consumers rarely look at the financials of the products they like to purchase and use.
Nikon can't live that way. Anyone who has ever run a real business understands why they cannot.
They are in trouble...serious trouble.
They need to turn it around...how...I have no idea. Not sure they know either.
At least they finally admitted their financial woes are a direct cause of not getting into mirrorless sooner.
It's not bashing. br It's not about brand wars. (w... (show quote)

The only good source is EDGAR but I have no intention of looking it up because I am only interested in buying the products which I like not buying stock in the company. By the way last I looked both Nikon and Canon stock is down

We had one at one time a very long time ago that looked exactly like yours. I ended up giving it to a student. I think that if you called Celestron technical support they would be able to tell everything about it. I'm looking at some older pics, I did that after You showed me the Black Dinosaur. And my pic is so faded and messed up I can't even find the paperwork, probably gave that to the student as well. Let me know what you come up with.

Mac, I understood what you said. It made sense to me. I did not perceive an opinion being stated
Lewhite seems to have focused on just a few terms and formed an opinion about you that was offensive to him. This seems to be a way of thinking today.
