So what? Let's go back to horse and buggies. Start now and I'll meet up with you in about a week.

I am old enough to remember some horse and buggies. Right after WWII in our town we still had some businesses using them. Now talk about pollution, think what a few hundred horses could do, and flies were everywhere. Using fly swatters we would kill fifty or sixty every day. I'll take the generators anyday.

well, I guess the question is; does the generator spoil the air more or less the the electrical car.
There is no doubt for the foreseeable we will have to continue to use diesel for our needs until one of them Genius' on this forum come up with a solution. I am not a Genius so I don't know the answer to that.

So many posters here are taking one part of the whole and judging based on that. You should look at the whole picture before you make pronouncements.
That fire truck racing down the street with it's diesel engine carrying that heavy 500 gallons of water to save your house from burning down is a terrible attack on the environment, just look at that exhaust - terrible.......................

I fail to see the analogy. One is an emergency one is not.

Seems to me there are some that want to take us back to the days of horses and flies. They had some real problems in the bigger cities of old because of horse droppings. Sanitation was a wash. But sometimes progress does not really mean progress.

In the UK diesel cars are quite clean for the last 15 years diesel cars have to have a filter that cleans and burns the crux that would normally come out of the exhaust, when this filter I virtually full a light comes on the dashboard and then you have to drive at least forty miles at forty miles per hour or more and this heats up up the filter destroying the crux that is inside. If you ignore this light a red one comes in and then if the filter is not cleaned within the next fifty miles the turbo will not work and then you have another fifty miles in which time your has to go to the service station. Some people remove the filter which is illegal and the car will not pass the not and the driver is fined.

If fossil fuels are eliminated within 15 years I'll need to buy an electric car, get rid of my natural gas furnace for electric heat and change out my natural gas whole home generator to one powered by batteries and recharged with solar panels. After spending all that money it won't be COVID keeping me from traveling. But then again maybe I shouldn't be concerned at all since I'm already age 75.

Electric cars the first bad winter that we have with heavy snow and bitter cold for say a month will see a lot of electric cars sold back to dealers, if you get 300 miles from a fully charged battery now much will you get with the heater on full blast lights on and wipers going and don't forget temperature down to minus 12 centigrade also affects battery life. I will keep my diesel car thankyou.

Looks to be a two-part hybrid.
Perpetual motion seems to have very nearly been achieved with (wink, wink) only a very tiny bit of energy (derived from the most finely refined Snake-Oil) periodically added to the system

Couldn't agree with you more. When they come up with a self-charging, battery powered vehicle, only then will they get my attention. All the rest is smoke-and-mirrors, robbing Peter to pay Paul.

You don't know of re/generative braking?

The electricity for the grid in the Australian Capitol Territory is generated
by water flowing down a mountain. ie. Hydro Electric Power Station
I guess you've never heard of that either.

"smoke and mirrors" lol

I should not have posted in this thread, as it's nigh on
impossible to reason with ignorance.
