Looks like God has his eye on the church in #2. And am I the only one who sees a snoring giant's face in the profile of the mountain? I wonder about myself sometimes.

Thank you Barry for your comment - I have to congratulate you on your vivid imagination - I sort of see your sleeping giant - maybe he is snoring too much for me to see him clearly. As for that church, I just saw it from a good distance but it looked just perfect being itself there in this big scenery. We visited it again in February of this year and actually managed to get right up to it and I got some interesting shots, including one that has just made it into my calender for next year with memories of this year, that I prepare every year for our families. Have a wonderful day. Joe

Interesting, as always, Joe! I lean towards the third image as my favorite. I am always fascinated by clouds and these are beautiful. I wonder what it must be like to live in a home like this, exposed to the elements with nary a tree in sight. So unlike what most of us are used to (OK, parts of the prairies, such as Southern Saskatchewan aside).

Thank you John, #3 is also definitely my favorite in this set, and actually one of my favorites of the entire Iceland series. These are lonely lives and the same is seen over much of rural Iceland - I do wonder if the people in the area get together socially on a one-on-one basis, but definitely there seem to be active church communities. Have a wonderful Sunday - Joe

I too was drawn to #3. The house looks so isolated and alone. No trees or bushes to protect it from wind or sun. Just a lonely house. I also like #6 for the green and slate colors. The Icelandic coloration has been very interesting. Thank you for posting.

Thank you Ellen for you kind comments. I am personally also very much drawn to #3, I think it presents the loneliness of these isolated dwellings in this country rather well, and many of the viewers like this one. As for number 6, I also like it but am not that thrilled with the quality of the shot and of my processing, which at that time was very limited and with Picasa I also used a rather basic program, I would now try to add a bit more contrast as well as light to make the image a bit more crisp. Of course it also did not help that I shot jpeg at that time and on a cropped sensor camera. Anyway, I am happy you like this shot as well. Have a wonderful day - Joe
