I always thought it was funny that Star Trek medical treatment could practically bring people back to life, yet Picard was bald as a cue ball.
I liked the one where they all got some deadly disease that Bones couldn’t cure. Then just in the nick of time, Scotty figured out how to use the transporter, and add a filter to remove the virus, or whatever it was. So everybody on the shop got a “ride” through the transponder. Cured all the people on the ship.
So we should be working on transporter technology not vaccines. And trials will be needed with early results possibly like the pig-thing in Galaxy Quest.
A doctor friend of mine used to say "The ANticipation is worse than the PARticipation." Usually before he gave me a shot. (I was quite young at the time.)
I remember when my doctor went from butt shots to arm shots -- they truly didn't hurt so bad!
