The fear of missing out on the latest trend? Personally, I don't care what cameras other people are using. As long as my camera helps me get the results I want, I'm quite happy. For me, a camera is simply a tool, not a fashion accessory.

Who said it is fear that a person does not want to go from film SLR to DSLR camera. You every think that a person may just like working with film camera. I can buy a SLR camera and known it will hold it value 10 years down the road. Can I say the same about a DSLR? The cost of a DSLR is way more than a the cost of a SLR camera and what are you getting? Yes a person can do more over the top things with a picture than a SLR. Is that still real photograph? Or is it in the world of fake photograph?

It your money, go for it. I have DSLR camera it 15 years years old and pay $25.00 for it two years ago. It works fine for me.
