Our destinations were Shaniko, Oregon. A almost but not quite ghost town. Population 39 at last count.glhen Smith Rock Park. In the 80's it was a international rock climbing destination. Since then several
groomed hiking trails have been added. Then it was off to The Painted Hills. One of the Seven Wonders Of Oregon. I read where the best time to view the hills is after it has rained. Well there wasn't a cloud in the sky when we were there. But the hills did not disappoint all the same.
Enjoy!

Hi Texan,
Thank you. We had to get out. Three plus months of lock down made us stir crazy. Our last trip before COVID-19 was to Georgia. Mid March, just as soon as we got there they started closing everything up. We cut our visit short and came back home. ):

Thank you. #4 is probably my favorite as well. This was a case of of everything falling in place at the right time. The trail was free from people which was good for a lot of reasons, photography included. The sun was at a good angle. Most of all we were getting tired and thinking about heading back out of the canyon. We decided to hike around one last cliff and #4 was the view that we found.
Did I mention luck. lol :)
Have a great day.

Hello fellow North Westerner. I have family near you so I know your area well. Love it.
Thank you for the nice comment.
Washington has been hit hard with the virus. So sorry to hear that. Hope all is good with you.

Beautiful set! We have been going to Sisters Oregon every year since 2010 and have made a few other trips there as well. We missed 2018 because we were cruising Norway and this year due to COVID-19. We have driven all of the coast at least once, and parts of it 2 or 3 times. Yet we haven't been to the places you just visited - yet. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you,
Like you COVID-19 has changed our lives considerably. But our family is safe and healthy and that's what matters most.
My wife and I just got pack from a southern Oregon coast trip. We started at Gleneden Beach and drove south. Depot Bay, Yachats, Heceta Head, Winchester Bay, Bandon, Port Orford, Brooking and crossed the Oregon, California border and went to the Redwoods. We took a lot of photos but have not had time to down load them. We have found the hotels and motels along with our timeshare properties all have figured out how to keep travelers safe. It is a huge relief. Thanks again for viewing.
Safe travels,
John

I'm glad all went well and is well. We are looking forward to getting back on the road. We've stayed at the Heceta Head Lighthouse, Wildspring in Port Orford and Depoe Bay. We haven't booked anything until next summer at our timeshare in Kauai; we are hoping it will work out. We had a Mediterranean cruise booked for this past June that we have re-booked in 2022.
