On July 6th I visited the BIG waves at the famous "Wedge" in Newport Beach, California with my camera. The previous weekend it was even BIGGER but because of the virus thing the city had all the beaches shut down with a $1000 fine if you were caught on the beach.
These all look best in download mode.
Wow! Great action shots. Shorter boards based on the location, I assume.
...I really like 8...you can see the look of concern as he figures out how he wants to land...
Fantastic set exciting

it looks pretty shallow, good action shots. Whenever we get hurricane surf, I 'm too old to surf, so I grab my camera.

Thanks for the nice compliment Fotoartist. Yes, shorter boards and also most of the surfers didn't wear leashes.

Yes, you can see the concern on his face. I also suggest for you to download photo #5 and observe his face as he gets tubed heading into a closeout.

Yeah, exciting! I would NOT want to be out there but it was great on the beach photographing.

Yes VeroPhoto, you are exactly correct.....at the Wedge it breaks on very shallow water and people have died here before and also been paralized.

Yeah. In more ways than one:-)
I especially liked #8. I would think it might have quite a bit of possible
stock comedy advertising sales potential. Such as: “Oh S4!t ! Where do I go now”

Great series! The mood and the action. Luv #7. Thanx for sharing.
Where was the hurricane centered? I forget, is Newport Beach facing the South or the South West?
I never Surfed, but I spent many years Diving around So. Cal. Although the only place in Orange County, that I can remember that I dove was Laguna Beach. Loved Laguna, not so much for Diving but for Bicycling & the restaurants & night life.

Good idea Jay Drew. I'm not really interested in the business end but still a good idea if I was into promoting my work and getting money for it.
