Fantastic set as always Brent. As I always say I can just feel the power in your shots. So well done. Be safe and well. -Doc
Thank you Doc.........As far as the power in my shots goes......I'm just recording what I see......the ocean is the real star of this series! I'm staying safe and well so far, I hope you and all my UHH friends also can say the same.
Great shots, Brent! Quite a choice for wall hangers there! Wouldn't know which was best. You have a great venue to live and shoot in. I used to be a Fullerton resident but moved North for the peace and quite of the Central Coast. Not seeing surf like that!
WOW BRENT! Bringing back memories! Been there done that in the 60's! Guts?, Crazy?, it is absolutely FEAR! It took me another couple of years to do it again.

cambriaman, thanks for the nice words about the photos. You are so right about having a great venue to live and shoot in. There always seems to be something going on that is photo worthy and exciting. The Wedge is probably the largest breaking waves in Southern California. It's not very consistent (every year or so) but when it breaks with just the right swell, it has the potential to get extra HUGE and scarrrrrrrrry!

Ken, if you were at the Wedge in the 60's then you were either body surfing or Boogie boarding. Since then if the swell is just right surfers on surfboards ride the place and are the fastest. Also another form of transportation has blossomed there: Skim boarding. If the swell is just right they take off running from the beach in the direction of the rock jetty and with the timing just right connect it up to the wave and head to the peak to the right and after building up speed, make it to the barrel on the inside. It's amazing how good these guys are. If the swell is just right, I've even seen SUP's out there doing much better than I could ever imagine. Sometime look up "the Wedge" on youtube and you will be amazed!
Great action shots. How well I remember the "wedge" from over 55 years ago. We used bigger boards back then. Mahalo for the memories.
JoAnne, thank you for the "great action shots" comment! If you were there 55 years ago, then you know more about the history of the Wedge than most! What kind of boards were you using then? Mahalo back at ya!
