I purchased a necklace for my wife for Mother’s Day that had elements to be engraved with my grandkid’s names. The online ad looked great, and didn’t indicate the item would come from China, nor did I get a confirmation from the company. The thing didn’t come in time, needless to say. Fortunately I had used PayPal for the purchase. PP indicated they would contact the company to follow-up. After a few weeks, PP indicated they were crediting back the purchase price, which they did. Interestingly enough, the other day the item showed up in the mail. I was very glad I had used PayPal

Many of those products are made in China...and many American sellers are selling products made in China. Thus, it's not always easy to "buy American". We have Nafta (and other "free trade" agreements) and the American consumer to thank for this...

I had the same thing happen, I needed a new bar and chain for my chainsaw. Available locally
but with my health issues and the virus I looked on Ebay. I did not want to wait too long so I searched
item location US only, checked feedback and found a seller with only one negative and that was a silly
complaint so I ordered it. Start getting emails, order shipped, then order delivered. I called UPS with
the tracking number and was told that number was for an Amazon woman's clothing shop, shipping to a
different address. I go back to sellers feedback page and every sale in the previous 3 weeks had the
same thing happen and fake tracking numbers. So I contact Ebay and they say they decline my report
because tracking number says it was delivered (but not to my address). They tell me if I want to dispute
their findings I must prove I did not get the package. They said with my proof I also would need a GPS
reading from where the package was delivered. I told them my next call would be to MasterCard fraud.
The next Ebay reply was that they had decided to reverse their denial and I could either get a coupon
for my next Ebay purchase or open a PayPal account and jump through a bunch of hoops. B-4 I replied
I checked with MasterCard and the money had been returned. I doubt I will ever want to order anything
on Ebay again.

Your comment. Please look into NAFTA and USMCA. They are nearly identical. Putting lipstick on a pig and giving it a new name doesn't change it. Where are the jobs?

Sounds like an experience I had with an outfit that advertises a lot on the Internet, "The Big Black Friday". I ordered and paid for an electric saw in January. Two months later I got a package of three saw blades, and of course the tracking record showed my order was delivered. I emailed them four times explaining the situation. Never got a response. Live and learn. (The company is in China)

I once bought something from a seller, but they didn't deliver it. So I complained to Pay Pal, but they sided with the seller, and I never got my money back. The credit card companies are a whole lot better. If you have an issue they will resolve it for you. Another thing I hate; You buy an app, thinking it is now yours. But when you get your statement, you find out that there's a monthly rental fee.

We have a neighborhood app called nextdoor.com where local people post problems, items for sale, items wanted, etc. Lately, there have been a few posts about an online seller called Coverou, in China. This seems to be their routine. They advertise a product at a good price, accept your order, and then post bogus UPS delivery information. The UPS info is actually correct, as far as it goes. One man said the UPS delivery confirmation was for a package from Amazon, not Coverou, and it was sent to a different name and a different address in his town. Because Coverou sent this delivery confirmation to PayPal, PayPal accepted it on face value, not confirming the validity of the delivery information.

I don't know how a Chinese company obtains valid UPS delivery info, but that seems to be their routine way of doing business. Since PayPal apparently accepts any form of "proof," don't expect PP to decide in your favor if you have a claim. Limit your buying to sellers you know well.

I have been burned by a couple of Chinese companies. THEN researched them and found out many people are getting burned. They do the bait and switch (mail you something cheap, of no value). I sent all info to PayPal AND they really do not care. I would think that PayPal would remove the scam sellers from their group. DO NOT TRUST PAYPAL TO FIGHT FOR YOU- OR EVEN POLICE THEIR SELLERS.

PAYPAL isn't as safe as it's cracked up to be. They forward your money and if something is wrong they don't stand behind the seller in trying to retrieve a refund of their money. i personally have had better results with Ebay.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRUST PAYPAL.

A large part is our so-called "gig" culture.
We enable businesses to 3rd party work to unqualified people, and the books get cooked for fun and profit.

We have Fedex problems. Actually, it's not quite Fedex, but it still is. The "real" subcontracted drivers here will work in the morning then *they* subcontract out. Many of these are ESL But that's OK! Our Red team overseers decided that in this day and age, anybody can follow a smartphone app and find an address.
So I get the guy who can't read well, mistypes my address, and delivers it two blocks away. Delivered and signed for. Fedex updates my address! ALL my packages get dropped off at a house being renovated.
The actual Fedex offices *here* are excellent. Other locations- notso much.
My local USPS drivers are very good. Their boss is being "efficient" in his "head count reduction" polices, so many of these guys are doing very large routes. That's why you see deliveries after 6pm- sometimes 8pm.
Phone calls,texts- don't mean anything. Be calm, rational, put it in writing, name names, office and Corps.
Paper is real. They have to deal with it. Be honest, truthful, calm and thorough. In a week, do another.

PayPal was founded by Ebay and completely owned by them. In 2015 PayPal became a seperate company from Ebay but the same investors seem to still own both.

PayPal was not founded by eBay.
Here is a timeline of Confinity turned PayPal.
Then bought by eBay, for a while anyway.
Carl Icahn forced eBay, PayPal sale.

This was one of my complaints. This scam is rampant and PayPal knows it BUT would not fight it since I did receive the shipment.

OK, guess that will teach me to follow my own rule and check multiple sources even when I am in a hurry - Gee, all the stuff I find on-line isn't correct?

Oh, well, I never heard of it until I started buying stuff from Ebay.

Should of googled FraudPal. :-)
I've been scared-off selling anything accepting FraudPal for payment.
Their backing buyers over sellers without having their money or their product being returned.
Never had a problem buying though.
