Full Frame, etc.
I have both full frame and crop and, frankly, am doing more with my crop bodies. It all depends on what you want to shoot and beginning with a crop body will produce very nice photos.

If history is anything to go by......Canon will beat them to it...Lol
A home run is worth more than two doubles. So is a full frame camera.

If they goes out of business then the Nikon's will be collectibles.
Brand owners who expect moments of seismic shift in the camera market to be comfortable and free of conflict have not learned their history.

Where DO you people come from?
Nikon is an international global scientific instrument company, camera's make up about 10% of the business. They are one of two companies in the World that manufacture their own blanks for lenses.
They have not, in recent years, put in the research and development in photography that had made them a leader. BUT, in recent years, they are putting more money and talent into research and development into new designs, like the Z camera's. Yes, they fell behind in mirrorless technology, and yes, they are buying Sony sensors (and so are many other companies in the industry) but Nikon still develops their own software (firmware) and that technology is very advanced and it is still a leader in that technology.
There new line of lenses for their Z line has been very well received by professionals and hobbyists alike.
To come out here with your quote "Nikon may be out of business soon" shows a very narrow and misguided view of a company with a strong tradition of producing quality and well thought out products.
Competition makes everyone better, I hope we continue to have, Canon, Sony, Fuji, Leica, Hasselblad, and all the rest around for a long time. We as consumers reap the benefits of this competition. I hope you come to realize that.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.

And while Sony does manufacture some of their sensors, they are Nikon designed.

History is not a good measure for Nikons situation, Canon is about to put out a series of cameras with features that most serious shooters want and they will win back some of the people that switched to Sony.
Every successful photographer is driven by an inner voice telling them Canon is the better camera.

Exactly. And several other "camera" companies also make scientific / medical equipment.
Only hobby consumers have these pointless flame wars...
The companies themselves don't.
I can guarantee Sony and Canon WANT Nikon to be healthy...
Nikon dropping to third place in lens sales is a bit disturbing...
But no camera company wants to see anyone else leave the table...
Pros ignore it all and buy what they need...
The hobbyists troll each other...for reasons unknown.
