Photography in the Time of Coronavirus Isolation
I will admit it, I am a high-risk individual for exposure, so we have been closeted for now 16 days with no end in sight.
So, that being said, to keep myself sane I have been following the Cats with my Nikon (they run when they hear the focus motor), shooting sunsets and sunrises in Los Angeles and time-lapses with a DJI ActionCam.
What have all of you been doing to keep your sanity intact?
reading books on my purchased Kindle, so is my wife.

Different in the wide open spaces. Except for shopping, not much has changed. If it goes on for a while, I'll have the longest hair I've had since the '60's - that is, ex the top!

Trying to learn more post processing software. Right now trying to learn luminosity masks using Raya Pro software. Probably will be trying to learn this long after any quarantine is lifted.
Reading, both physical books and on the Kindle app; watching WAY too much TV with the 20 lb cat on my lap;
checking on friends via telephone and Facebook; taking a daily walk when weather permits, now restricted to neighbor because park where I used to go is closed.
Reading, walking my dog, and checking in with friends via Facebook. And taking naps. Love those naps.
Ya .., dats right ...my nail salon and barbershop are both closed ..oh .., ok .. the Howard Hughes look will be in style this year ..yea ...
Trying to see if we can prevent loosing our small business. We own a four space retail building in a college town. University is closed and town population down 40%. Rents received next week will be 35% of normal we expect. May rents maybe as low as O%. Not sure. Restaurants can’t make it on take out. “Non essential” stores in the building closed.
So studying the federal CARE act to explore options. Waiting to learn which lenders will be handling the federal funds. That list won’t be identified for up to 30 days. We can do this for a while but not long term. Pretty nerve wracking.
Maybe I should take a few photos but haven’t been in the mood. Plus my wife was traveling when this happened so we are sequestered from each other for two weeks. Sorta like salt in the wound. We’ll stick to it and figure something out. Sorry if that’s a sad tale but it’s the truth. Not begging for mercy. Just being honest. I assume many here are in a similar boat.
Have fun herding cats Robert.
Birds, bees, and flowers near home for me.

I don't see any risk in going out and shooting photos, as long as I avoid getting near other people.
Trying to only watch enough news to stay safe...Riding the Harley...Sally and I live in Central Florida at an RV and Golf park that is teeming with birds...we have a support group of about 10 (not congregating) and when anyone goes out we check to see if anyone needs anything...reflecting that if it's our time then it's God's will and we have had a full and blessed life....
Here's one "escape" for being shut in:
EarthcamTV.com Earthcam has an app for the Apple TV, so I watch landscapes from around the world as they rotate across my 55" set. The web site does exactly the same! So, while I have the "window on the world" in front of me, I listen to music and read good books. When I get up, I play guitar or cook. Who says quarantine has to be unpleasant?
I am very fortunate, including having already been used to a slower lifestyle compared to my most active photography years 2013 through 2017.
I live in a large apartment complex with lawn and sidewalk areas to walk the dog and a few flowering trees to shoot. I can drive around the countryside taking photos from the car, which I did a week ago just before our "stay home" directive.

Nothing much has changed for me with the exception of shopping during 6-7am during Walmart's Tuesday morning old folks hour. Bombay Hook is just a hop, skip, and a jump from there. I guess the difference is I get there a little after sunrise instead of a little before.
The NWR's and State Parks (except state beaches) are open. They have even waived entrance fees. Social distancing is the only requirement to date. Much of our local media is misrepresenting the Stay at Home order, missing the part where it says outdoor activity is essential and that even includes fishing.
I still spend a lot of time woodworking and now landscape work between the rainy days.

For the last 2 weeks I have been spending a lot of time visiting my wife in hospital. She doesn't have the virus however she lost the ability to be mobile (dementia). They are working on the mobility issue and ofter that tackle about the dementia problem. So at the moment I am just taking it day by day.
