I did search first and while lots of posts re black rapid straps, none which answered my question. I have narrowed my choice of black rapid straps to the Breathe Sport and the Nicole Elliott. I like the chest strap on the Breathe Sport and the shoulder hugging pad on the Nicole Elliott. I’ve seen lots of positive reviews on the Breathe Sport and have actually tried one out but has anyone experience with the Nicole Elliott?

The black rapid strap that I had came loose at the swivel point that attaches to the bottom of the camera.
I was able to catch the camera before it crashed to the ground. BLACK RAPID'S RESPONSE WAS, WE'LL SEND YOU A NEW SWIVEL CLIP!

I had a strap that attached to the bottom of my camera. It made me too nervous. I feel more secure using the strap lugs.

I have an off-brand version of the Nicole, so I can't help you much. I think one feature that mine is missing that the Nicole has is the quick release. I don't miss it all that much, but occasionally a quick release would be nice.

I don't think the Breathe Sport offers a quick release either.

The bottom mount (for tripod) is stronger than either of the two strap points (since only one has to fail).

Do you find the off brand Nicole particularly comfortable?

If you haven’t already considered it, I went with an OpTech double sling which allows the camera to hang in front of me while I used 2 walking sticks. Very comfortable design.

I have used black rapid straps for many years and never had a problem. As instructed I check my connection between camera and strap every time I use the strap.

I have two Black Rapid Straps and really like them. I have no experience with the Niccole Elliott model.

Many of my female photo friends use this strap from Peak Design, as a shoulder/body strap. They use the connectors in unique ways to attach their gear to the strap.

My problem with the tripod mount is ,it coming loose, not failing.

Regardless of what strap you select, you will always have to check the connector to make sure it is fully secured. No strap can replace what you need to do to protect your gear.

Id recommend looking into the Peak Design Slide strap. I chose this over the BR models because you can use the strap on the lugs, or a lug AND the tripod mount. Easy to swap between them too.

Worth a look. I didnt want a single point of failure for my camera.

I have a strap that attaches to the mount, plus has a strap that attaches to the lug for insurance. Sometimes the extra strap can get in the way, though.
