I agree with Andy. The design of the poles and how they catch the light is mesmerizing. Then that slanted pole shows up and jars me right back to reality. I like that the mountain is there, but doesn't interfere with the poles. It has been awhile since I saw the original post, but somehow I think one is better.
I tried a bit of unsharp mask on this after my "how do I sharpen" topic in PP Forum. The previous post of this hops pic to UHH is in the link below (a lot of changes, for sure ):

I appreciate your feedback, Kathy!

Linda, nothing wrong with your shot that I find and interesting one. The image works well because of the pattern of repetition. The exposure is fine, the subject interesting and that pole to the left brakes the patterns of the vertical poles to add interest.
A great shot.
Delighted to know you enjoyed, William. Thank you!

Funny, I was wondering “am I the only one that sees a dual-frequency sinusoidal waveform here”?

No - you are not the only one - although I would not have known what to call it - it certainly looked as if it belonged on an electronic screen

Linda, I did some side by side comparisons with the original. What's strange is that it's more dense with more contrast, and normally I like that. But the newer one with the lighter look is actually better IIMO. Cropping (or cloning?) out those top wires really made a difference. The new one looks more abstract. and I like abstract.

I think the crop (or lack thereof) is nearly the same; you just can't see the very top wires as well in this re-do. I have the same feeling as you about the "lighter" look, especially the sky.

Thanks again Kathy!

I think the diagonal pole in the foreground, on the left conflicts from an otherwise interesting pattern.

Nice pattern shot, Linda. On my Dell P2715Q, the picture nearly filled the width (about 1/2 inch on each side) and was over the height by about 1.5 inches.

A really wonderful shot. It looks better in my browser than in Flickr.

Love this image, and this processing. I remember seeing a number of these, but pretty sure this was one of them. The processing on this one appears to outclass the previous one by leaps and bounds. About the leaning pole. Its like the one soldier that isn't at attention. Without him we would be more apt to take all the perfect ones for granted.

The geometry of the capture of the poles is outstanding.

This is a new edit of a 2017 photo. I'm also trying out hot links from Flickr Please offer feedback on processing as well as composition and interest (or lack thereof) in the subject. One more question: did you have to scroll or change browser zoom to see all? Many thanks!

Hello Linda, I really like your photo, there is something besides the patterns and the pale blue sky that compels me to keep looking. Maybe its the wires and the remains of previous growth or the earth piled up around the poles, what ever it is I like it. It would be good to visit again when the crops start to grow. Also I did have to scroll a little to see the entire image when I enlarged it. Regards, TD

How perfectly you described the impact of the pole. Thank you so very much, Mark.
