This is a new edit of a 2017 photo. I'm also trying out hot links from Flickr Please offer feedback on processing as well as composition and interest (or lack thereof) in the subject. One more question: did you have to scroll or change browser zoom to see all? Many thanks!

I've tried for patterns like this, and you have succeeded much better than I. The distancing pattern between each of the near posts is great.

Thanks very much. Since I don't usually traipse around in the fields, I was delighted to see this view from the road. Most of the fields seem oriented to looking down long parallel rows.

I have to scroll slightly to see all of the image. Despite the size of the image the small detail is well represented but doesn't look over-sharpened. And the subdued colouring avoids an over-processed look. You seem to have achieved a parallel look across the frame which I'm assuming was due to the use of a telephoto from a distance.

Thanks very much for your feedback, R.G. This was with the Lumix G7 at 46 mm, uncropped (double that for equiv full frame field of view). I was about 50 feet away from closest pole, I think.

Another one of those "I like it but I can't explain why. No problem with the display

Thanks Jack! Sometimes it's good to just feel and not think

Linda, the processing is just fine, but the crooked pole in the foreground just seems out of place. Now the composition is interesting, it brings out my engineering background. The symmetry and staggered distance of the poles reminds me of a dual-frequency sinusoidal waveform. The symmetry of the wires with the ties hanging off them reminds me of a solar spectrogram but without the colors. Dual stories. Who would have imagined? This image didn't do much for my brain's right side but did stimulated my left-sided brain tendencies.

BTW, it a nice image also.

The image smoothly resizes to any browser window size.

I always like ag subjects, and I like this idea, but I am not sure this one quite does it. I keep wishing I could see the snow-capped mountains just a little better.

I am not sure, but I think the "don't limit page width" checkbox on the user profile page fixes that.

What a delightful response! I'm thinking your negative view of the angled pole comes from the left brain also - breaks those perfect wave patterns and solar symmetry? Many thanks Mike!

Thanks very much for your time and feedback, Mike. It's interesting to know your feeling about the mountains. I wonder if that's from your familiarity with hops fields and/or central WA so that where others might be captivated (lol) by the patterns and forms, you are seeing the wider sense of place view.

This pic was taken between Wapato and Toppenish, several miles west of Rte 97. From there, only Mt Adams is visible, and those foothills rarely display snow when the valley is clear.

I have to say that in my mind, the misplaced pole is what takes this image from good to great. It’s jarring, visually, and that’s why I like it so much.

Linda, I also think this might be worth a try in black and white?

Hi Andy, I think Linda had me pegged regarding the tilted pole. My left brain was active but my right brain was out on vacation somewhere.
