According to Tony Northrup's very recent You Tube, "Nikon is Dying", Nikon is going out of business unless they change things quickly. What do you think?

Horse manure.

Now what if enough people believed that, bought another brand for fear of no future support, which may cause the scenario to come to fruition.
All caused by one comment propagated all over the internet...

The market is rapidly moving off 'cameras' to smart phones. Only creative camera companies will survive. I have never viewed Canon or Nikon all that responsive to the marketplace. At some point market forces will prevail...

You only partially right Bob. Where you're wrong is on phones will take over the camera world. that will never. Are there a lot of cellphones yes because at least 9 out of 10 I don't know the true odds, but most people have a cell phone, more people have cell phones that have cameras. That does not mean that cameras are going to give way to cell phones. Cell phones will never have the quality that a good DSLR has, therefore those of us that like taking photographs will never rely on cell phones. A cell phone is a cell phone with the added advantage of a very small sensor camera.

think of holding a DSLR up to your ear to talk on, that's where I cell phone would have to go to match a DSLR.

What I find interesting, for this one and others, like DSLR sales succumbing to cell phone sales,
It's ALL opinions! From whom? Marketing people? Economists? Manufacturing people?
Nope, simply opinions right here in River City.

OMG! My Nikon arsenal will be worthless! When Nikon folds (Tony said so) all that expensive gear will no longer function! Bodies will die! Lenses will close up and turn black! My Nikon hat and shirts will completely unravel and imprints will crumble! Oh! What will I do? What WILL I do? Oh, woe is me! I'm ruined! No one will love me! My wife will leave me and my dog will go with her! Oh, woe is me. (sic)

People have been predicting the demise of both Nikon and Canon for a couple of decades. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Tony lives and dies by his click count. He depends on folks like you to spread the word. Now some UHH members who hadn't seen that video will go check it out. Tony hears 'cha ching'.

For this very reason I am not going to watch this video. Whatever he says is irrelevant, I am not switching the brand. I have been Pentaxian for 35 years until September 2018, when I switched to Nikon which was for me the only alternative to Pentax. I will never touch Canon unless it's the only brand remaining on our planet. I like my D750 and Z6 and that's where my loyalty is now and shall remain.

Yeah that explains it as I switched from Nikon to Nikon and again to Nikon.

I went from Canon to Nikon to Nikon and Yashica, to Nikon and Canon and Bronica and Camerz and Calumet to Nikon and Canon to Panasonic.

The same is being passed around regarding Olympus.., but these are only rumors. We shall see, as both companies have been around for a very long time with great reputations.
