I agree. I see nothing to be excited about. I did expect more from them. They don't have to put everything on sale but you would think an item or two would at least show that they care about having a share of the spending that is taking place!

Thanks for the "straight line" I just had to respond this way
When you sell the best you don't need to put it on sale

Yes and if you are a Prime Amazon person, you can get 10% off of anything Nikon on line. I just don't call that a real special deal.

WOW, you've twigged.....Black Friday isn't necessarily bargains all the way.
The increase in sales is more probably that monthly salaried people are buying for christmas rather than waiting for December's salary and having to shop at the last minute.

Hope you get what you wished for

Nikon is having Black Friday sales. I just checked and Nikon has at least nine cameras, twenty-one lenses and two speedlights on sale. I've never seen Nikon put any speedlight on sale. The SB-500 and SB-700 are on sale

Nikon usually puts select items on Black Friday Sales. The D3500 and D5600 bundle kits with two lenses are a bargain. And before Black Friday, you could get a refurbished D7500 for $599. You can also get a Nikon FX 85mm f1.8G for $426, a $50 reduction. A new FX 50mm f1.8G for $180. And a new SB-700 flash unit for $296. Nikon is not doing any worse than its competitors for Black Friday Sales.

I was thinking of buying a second SB-700 after seeing this. I paid really close to that for a used 1 back in spring 2016 while purchasing my camera.

I just ordered a second one a couple of days ago. I will use two when using an umbrella.

Nikon is reeling financially. Even talk about cutting R&D.
They are not in a position to make less .. to gain down the road.
They may be running out of road. At least the road they are used to being on.
Give them a break.

Not every company is enthused about Black Friday sales - REI for example, deliberately didn't even open.
Huge backlash in other parts of the world at the moment.

Perhaps I'm just becoming too much like the Grinch - I tend to see these things as just another step of the almost total destruction of anything resembling what Christmas and the season was supposedto be about - just another step in converting it to a sea of commercialization, persuading people to spend money they don't really have to buy things they don't need.

Not necessarily, if you have been watching the ad's, they have been reducing items for about a month, now on many bodies, they are throwing in a free vertical grip. (on D850)
So it appears, if you have been paying attention (try a second cup of coffee) that Nikon does give quite a bit on Black Friday. Maybe your still napping. WAKE UP before the sale ends.
