I have a 10R that's only about 9 months old so I will not be buying a new iPhone 11... Plus I'm still paying off my D850, which I use for real photos.

Just curious. Are any of you going to purchase the new iPhone 11, 11 Plus, or 11 Plus Max ? ?

If you are, is the new camera system any influence in your coming purchase?

I know many prefer other brands and their cameras, but this question is just about the Apple products.

(sorry for typo - Buying an iPhone ? ?)

I am already watching the early user review videos. I can see how these new phones would provide more excellent photos than my iPhone 7. I want to check them out more closely when they are actually here.

Is battery in iPhone 6 easily replaceable?

At the Apple store it is easily replaceable :) I don't think it's recommended to do it yourself.

Like others above, I'm an iPhone 6s plus owner and am going to the new iPhone 11. The video capabilities look incredible. The new night mode is also interesting. I think another very important feature is the water resistance. I like to work around water and have ruined a couple of phones. I like the ability to dip it accidentally.

Also the battery life is much improved.

Not seen a reason yet to upgrade from my 7Plus. I'm extremely pleased with it's photo capability and it's become my exclusive point and shoot. My SX50 and A77 now spend more time in the closet than ever before.

I have an iPhone X and will not be upgrading. Although it's convenient for snapshots my interest in phones is not for the camera. In fact, I got more than I need as it is with the X.

I would have upgraded from my iPhone X had Apple installed a true telephoto lens in the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but they chose to install a wide angle instead. I can do ultra wide angle with a panoramic. I can take good pictures with ProCamera's app's low light mode. I don't do selfies so whatever improvements they made aren't significant enough for me to upgrade at this time.

I have an iPhone X - the camera wasn’t a factor, other than the phone having one. Did even know the megapixel count of the phone for a year.

The phone is always with me - a necessity in my work. Obviously the camera can’t be. Most of the images from the phone are snapshots at Family events. Occasionally I have the phone with me for a snapshot of something or someone, as I start to use it I notice that conditions have moved things into the serious picture envelope. Then I consider my POV, lighting, contrast, and composition just as I would with the D850. The result is often a good photograph. I noticed the iPhone MP count when I noticed I could enlarge the image to 11x17 (without cropping).

The night my father passed the hospice called me at 02:45. Got to the hospice did what need to the morning as home at 04:45. Was standing in back of the house on a lakeshore - then I noticed that everything had gone still in this pre-dawn hour. Completely still and the lake was a nearly perfect mirror. I took some pictures and they came out wonderfully. They captured that moment of peace and acceptance. They’re probably the single most important images I have. And they are also publishable grade.

My iPhone 8+ has two lenses. But as far as I can tell, there is no way to select. Are they meant to work together, but if so why do I not see any binocular effect?

Replying to SB's question about protruding lenses on the iPhone 11. A good case will protect the lenses, and anyone who carries a $1000 phone without a case is foolish.

yes, my experience (*) is that iPhone glass is especially fragile.

(*) I'm have had a smart phone for roughly fifteen years now. I'm not sure of breakdown by year, but I have had phones by several different manufacturers. I have broken the screen on two different smart phones now - both of them being iPhones.

My iPhone 6 will remain my emergency back-up. If I lived where there was a cell signal less than 22 miles away, I might consider and upgrade. My iPhone is a travel phone!

It seems lots of readers are waiting for the iPhone 11. "Snapshots vs photos" (prior reader comments) made me smile and shake my head. I want simple, less expensive, good snaps/photos...with a phone, LOL.
Will be visiting an Apple store soon and am considering the 8 vs 8+. Thanks for commenting. All comments provide info to consider. All valuable!

Hello this is Gail, "Snapshots vs photos" just pre-ordered the iPhone 11Pro. Getting it tomorrow, can't wait! Still in love with my Canon 5D Mark1V which is what I use for all my professional & serious photography. I'll be comparing my 8Plus to the 11Pro & having fun!
