The second one, definitely. The shed in it's aged condition adds to the overall 'feeling' and the composition of the second is more pleasing. The first is 'just a house'. The second is 'a mood'.

The first is much better because you have a definite, attractive, well-composed subject. The second is what I might consider a split subject at best, and the dominant house is too far to the right. It is like you are trying to include too many elements into the photo because you thought the house behind looked interesting too. (I would crop about an inch off the left side.)

I like them both. The first shows details of the house. (The small window, by the way, is likely a bathroom window.) The second shows the house in its environment - which is beautiful!

The second one shows more of the field environment and a second structure. I like the wide view.

I like them both. I like the first one because of the details of the house. I can picture the painting "American Gothic" being posed in front of the house. Being me, I might have cut down the tree to expose more of the mountains.
I like the second one because there is more sky and mountains to examine.
Keep up the good work.

Number 1 for me. I would simply crop the flat ground in front of the tall grass bringing the house forward a bit. Leave left side as it is so as not to cramp/ pinch the house which is facing left. If you clone well, and I don't, take out bush near back shed as it catches my eye too much. If you can just leave small shed it softly pulls eye and creates depth. Hope you show us what you decide on.

One is a more close-in version with a shed in the background - tried to emphasize the house with everything else secondary. The second is a more panoramic, inclusive shot with a different shed off to the left and the house being a bit less prominent. I would welcome any and all input as I am torn betwixt and between. Thanks!

I prefer the second one because I think it gives a little more context to the overall image. I'm not crazy about the large tree in the background but there's not a lot you can do about it except maybe wait until the late fall when the leaves have fallen from it.

The bottom one. Although I don't always trust popular theories, the lower one conforms more to the "rule of thirds," by placing an object of interest at one of the cross-hairs. Both look good, but the top is a little bland.

The first image, while nicely done, is more of a record shot. The second image provides not only a nice view of the abandoned house but puts it in the context of its surroundings, thereby creating a scene and making a more interesting image for the eye to explore and the mind to ponder the past of the house and its surroundings. Just my two cents . . . .

Both are nice, but with different views. I like the first one because the house is the subject. Would have widen the shot just a bit to include the bush on the right and keep the house slightly off center.

I like both images, but prefer #2. There is more to the image - surroundings and sky bring so much to the image.

The first is static. You look at the house and then nothing. The second leads you around to explore the area. There is so much more to think about as a result of seeing this photo.

My guess is that it is in the bathroom--small and up high to avoid peeping.

I prefer #1.
