I am losing my Mac Laptop at the end of the summer, and, for quick basic edits on jpegs, found that Photos worked really well for this (a bit of straightening, sharpening, auto-color correction, maybe a quick vignette). These are used only as quick uploads to a social media share site (think parents of sports teams) As is obvious, this program will not port easily onto my Windows machine.
While I can do full editing for my RAW photos on ON1, I am looking for a very simple editor that is - really - just the equivalent of photos on the Mac. Yes, I know ON1 can do everything (and much more), but it takes much longer for these quick sort/edits, so I wanted to ask if there is “quick and dirty” option (not LR, etc - something simple)
Thanks in advance for your guideance and advice
The Microsoft "Photos" works about the same way for basic edits and it's included with Win10.

Yes there is. Photos in Win 10 will do that too. Simple & Friendly!

Without arguing against the Windows built-in solution, consider Luminar.
Windows photos is quite good but limited, I use Google Photos mostly, it has a basic but very good editor, why not try it out.

Yes, it is, Mark - but the latest Win 10 Update wipes it out. (Tried doing a Reset, to no avail.)

John - not quite sure why you'd recommend Google Photos (an ANDROID App) for a Windows PC!!!!
Could you explain that to me, please?

Try FastStone Image Viewer. It works well with RAW and JPG files and has all of the basic tools. I recently completed a project posting pictures of Parque National se Los Haitises on FB. I culled 500 images down to 50 then processed the 50 with Faststone. Crop, straightened horizons, white balance. Sharpen, etc. It was quick and easy.

David - two very simple Win 10 supported simple Photo Editors, are Faststone, and IrfanView.
But, be careful, when you do Win 10 Updates, as the most recent one (1802) will wipe them out!
I have lightroom, photoshop, Gimp2, and Luminar on my combuter, but for quick and easy minor edits I still go to my old copy of Paint Shop Pro even though there are more modern solutions.

I still have it with update 1903
Mark
You can try Photos (Win 10) or Google Photos (if you don't mind uploading your photos there), both mentioned, and I would add FastStone products (also free and more powerful) if you need something else.
Try these 3 free options and choose the one you find the easiest

I just did my windows update to 1903 and PHOTOS app is still here
I use FastStone Image Viewer\FS works good for a free program. Does way more than windows photos.
doesn't require you to upload any photos to the cloud like some. I used pacasa 3 for a long time now
Faststone is my simple editor of choice and a great replacement for Pacasa
