This is one more thing to blame on Trump! The economy is so hot that anyone with more than 2 brain cells can get a job paying more than FEDEX. So, we're left with the typical FEDEX driver and dispatcher. Not their fault, really, the local burger joint wouldn't hire them.
I had a very bad experience with FedEx about a year ago. I had ordered a couple of wine bottles for a special occasion. The day it was supposed to be delivered, I got an email from FedEx saying the driver attempted delivery but none was home to sign. That was totally untrue as I was home all day anď since my study overlooks the driveway, I am positive the truck did not attempt delivery. Well, it was delivered the next day, but just left at the front door. No bell, no signature, nothing. Being that the law requires any alcohol delivery to be signed by an adult, not only was the driver untruthful about delivery the previous day, but he lso broke the law.
Fact is the Post Office and UPS does the same thing once in a while.
Must be a human thing,
They are horrible. Multiple bad experiences. The only thing worse than their delivery service is their customer service.

Same here. I use both FedEx and UPS and can't recall having any problems with either in a long time. Dozens of deliveries by both.
I have an account with FedEx. It's free, easy, and only requires a visit to their website. In addition to tracking it allows you to set up alternate delivery addresses, receive phone calls or text messages when a package is enroute and when it has been delivered. You can even give the driver specific directions about delivery. At one point I wondered why the driver kept leaving packages next to my garage. Then I checked my account and realized I never changed a one-time set of directions I had left. Now he leaves the packages on the porch, as always.
Without fail I will receive a robocall within 15 minutes of a delivery.
Maybe we just live in an area with good service.

USPS, NEVER a problem, plus they "complete" a lot of UPS deliveries in our very rural section of Virginia.
I believe it is not worth their time to send a driver/truck to my house to deliver one package.
I have very little experience with FedEx with no memorable fails.
With UPS I no longer have any problems since I opened an account with them.
I STRONGLY advise opening a FREE account with them as you can choose from a list of delivery conditions that will please you.
It is a shame that UPS does not promote this customer resource more than it does!
Whoops, that sounded like a complaint when it is only a recommendation.

I have had no issues with USPS, UPS or Fedex - many deliveries.
Sorry for your difficulty.

I get pretty decent service from USPS/UPS/FEDEX/sometimes DHL. We do have a lot of the hand-off's (UPS Sure Post to USPS, FEDEX Smart Post to USPS, DHL to USPS) - hopefully I didn't reverse the names of their service), USPS never does hand-off's from what I've experienced. The combo/hand-off's (from what I can tell) are determined by the retailer/shipper, but I've never actually asked the sellers (my USPS/UPS/FEDEX drivers don't understand it either). My really bad experiences have been with the newer competition used by Walmart/Amazon, disappearing/reappearing, on-going "out-for-delivery".
USPS does a good job, only a couple small complaints when we got a new mail-person. UPS drivers often carry my packages/or hand-truck them up to the house, open the gate, close the gate when they leave, and put them out of the weather and in a hidey place (my term), FEDEX sometimes brings them up, mostly just inside the gate, out of sight of the street. DHL has been fine too. I did nearly catch a package snatcher in the act, in my yard, trying to come in the gate for the just dropped off package, and warned the carrier company that the driver was being tailed, at Christmas time of course.
I do use free shipping for almost everything, even a 65" Samsung (which was already greatly reduced "on sale") delivered by a Pilot Trucking husband/wife team (very helpful and friendly). Never usually in that big of a hurry that i need anything immediately. I also have the luxury of being able to be home for the delivery of anything pricey/fragile, and often times I meet them at the gate, so they know me, we exchange pleasantries and such, and they all seem interested in doing good, being polite, helping me with the package if large, etc. I wouldn't report one if I saw them smoking, it's a hot, wet, nasty miserable job delivering in Florida, and if my stuff arrives safely when it is supposed to, I don't care if they drive naked, do handstands or whatever - although I wouldn't want to actually see them naked!!!!

I have had good and bad with all three (USPS, UPS and Fed Ex.) USPS took 18 days to get a package from S Ga to Northern Ill, via it seems Minn, Iowa and the Chicago . Fed Ex delivered a chair to the wrong house (luckly the home owner called us and told us he had our chair), but also FX delivered a package at 8;45pm with an apology for being late. UPS has sent a package back just because he "thought" I had moved,( no 1&2nd attempt to del.) So there is good and bad in all 3!

I’ve had them deliver other peoples packages to my address by mistake.
If you think think FedEx is bad - you have never used USPS their service is really bad - missing and damaged packages. They love sticking a package designed for a 10" mail box into a 4" mailbox just to avoid bringing it to our porch! They deliver - just not a useable product
Complain to your local FedEx agent. Their local policies/attitudes seem to vary. Never a problem here, they honk coming up the drive and will come to the door if I don't get out there first. Also I live on a steep backwoods dirt road and there are times UPS doesn't deliver in the winter. Several years ago, snow so bad UPS canceled deliveries and I figured FedEx would do the same. Early that evening I heard a honk in my driveway and saw an unmarked pickup truck. Went out to check, it was my usual FedEx driver with my package. Asked her where her FedEx truck was, she said she figured her FedEx van wouldn't make it up my hill so at the end of her delivery day she got her own 4wd truck and used that to get up my hill to deliver my package. That's service! Service depends on the attitude of the local FedEx office and its employees.

This is really true. The difference is whether the local Fedex Ground franchise is doing a good job.
