Oh, contraire. DHL has been resurected. The German P.O. runs it. For the last few years they have been frequent in delivering international mail where I work. Lately, they have partnered with the USPO where they deliver packages to the local PO for delivery to the customer. Slow boats from China move faster and more reliably.

I ordered the Canon 17-40 f4 because it was on sale from $800 to $500 at BnH. Received a text that it had been delivered yesterday, but I was at home and so I knew it wasn't. Called BnH and Fedex and reported it. About an hour later the driver comes to the house with the package.

Last month it was something else they dropped off at a wrong address. But don't remember what.

A couple of years ago they delivered an Apple MacBook Pro to an address in another town.

I think I am done with them.

Anyone else having issues with them?

Fedex delivered my Canon printer and I wasn't home, they put it in the backyard on a table full of snow. I didn't know it was back there, and I kept checking for the printer. I didn't get the printer, but they said it was delivered so I checked the backyard and the box was damaged from sitting in melting snow. They also don't ring or knock when they drop off a package. I also got SD cards and they didn't knock or ring the bell that time either!

I think if you ship enough items you're going to have issues with any carrier. I recently shipped a $1700 item via USPS. I insured it for $1300 because the shipping made an outrageous jump if I insured it for the full amount. The package was marked "out of delivery" but never made it to the recipient. The next day it was flagged in tracking with some mysterious code.

I called the post office for the zip code of the delivery address and the customer service rep there talked to the mail carrier. The first thing I learned was that with their system "out for delivery' only means it should be going out that day, it doesn't necessarily mean it's on a truck. The carrier stated she did not deliver any package anywhere that matched the description of my box and she did deliver mail to the address in question.

They did an "exhaustive" search and couldn't find the package. They told me to start the claim process even though they would likely do nothing until 15 days had elapsed. I told them the claim would be for $1350 and the post office official got a bit more attentive. Two hours later she called me back and told me they had found my package mistakenly placed in a postage due bin.

Yesterday, while visiting with neighbors, I found out that shipping by train/rail or even bus can be more economical than USPS, FedEx or UPS. Although it may take longer it is another "route" to mail packages.
Not necessarily "receiving".

The trouble with both FedEx and UPS is that they have huge delivery time windows. If something gets shipped "signature required" this becomes a problem. Hanging around all day waiting for FedEx or UPS to arrive is very frustrating, especially when they miss their promised window !

About 10 years ago I had a house fire. Shortly after that UPS delivered a package and scolded me for having the package sent to a "less than secure" address. However, UPS actually dropped off TWO packages that day. One was a bicycle ordered by a neighbor several blocks away. I told the neighbor to give them hell.

If you complained about me doing something as simple as smoking a cigarette I'd lose your package too.

Not losing the package but what is wrong if he smokes the cigarette?

Here's an update to my earlier post. Got the new balance shoes two days late and it was delivered by USPS and not UPS as the ups tracking says. Next, because I fear that an items from shopnfl was going to be a failed delivery, I contacted shopnfl via twitter. in moments I was connected to a customer rep who told me that because of my fears, shopnfl change the router from fedex to the USPS doing this will allow the item to arrive 2 days early. As I've said, if you're not happy with the delivery service, call those people you ordered from and have then change the delivery provider. this could mean an added extra charge, But in our case no extra charge was added.

To all those who missed my comment about a fedex employee smoking while on the clock, I simply asked the fedex rep is this is allowed. According to the rep, this is NOT allowed while on the clock. So they thanked me for reporting this to them. Again, if you're unsure of the rules, contact those in charge as I did and proved that I didn't want some delivery person smoking a cigg blowing smoke in my face while making a delivery. In other words, I could care less if you smoke but dont blow your smoke in my face while delivering my products.

They got mr again:

Tracking details
FedEx tracking #612995355346xxxxxxxx
Jun 3, 2019
23:56pm PDT
Shipment exception - Barcode label unreadable and replaced
CARSON, CA 90746

This took a week. The package was damaged, and so was the label.
It was almost delivered to someone else, but luckily the system did not fabricate a "real" address.
Fedex NEVER notified me, at all. And I have a Fedex account!
I only found out looking up the number on my eBay "Purchase History" tracking number.
Trying to see if the seller shipped late- nope, just a Fedex SNAFU.

A few years ago, the company I worked for moved across town. The owner was very picky and every small detail was studied and accounted for. This included notifying everyone of our new address and location. Our new location was directly across the street from FedEx, but it took them about two weeks before they started delivering - they couldn't find us!
