It looks like we'll have more pears than we can manage this year. I may have to cull some when they're small. I took lots of shots morning and afternoon, but preferred the afternoon light on this one.
Great shot.
Why cull? Have you ever made pear jam?
The last time that I made it, I cut the amount of sugar in half and it was even better, tasting the pears over the sweetness.
I found that if I cooked down the pears as I found them, and froze them until I had enough to make a complete the recipe, that the color and flavor was better. The color needs to darken slightly which only happens if you cool down the pears then re-cook them a second time when you then add the sugar and other ingredients. There used to be a recipe for pear jam inside the Certo package.
Great shot Vicki. Great DOF. Looks like a Greeting Card. 👍

Very nice. I look forward to this scene in my yard, but this morning my pear tree has two inches of fresh snow!
Very nice Vicki. I like the lighting very much.

Many thanks Bob. We might have a good crop if the raccoons don't get them.

With the weather we had this past winter, we could very well get a record harvest of fruit on the trees this fall........I sure hope so cause the corn crops were swept away in many states and the top soil with it and that's a BAD THING...
Sure hope I'm wrong about the farms that the floods destroyed last month. We really need the farmers more than ever.
I feel very sorry for all of the people who suffer loss like this, and we all suffer when the farmers have problems.
