Really nicely done, Vicki. Love the background.

This is beautiful, Vicki. The blossoms are so pure and delicate. You captured them in beautiful light.
Thank you Carol. I went out to get more shots yesterday afternoon but the blossoms are gone! I think the wind stole them.
It's a good lesson to get shots when you can and live in the moment.

Great shot Vicki.
Thank you Mark. It occurs to me that when you're spending time looking at shots on the forum, you're not editing those 6,000 Patagonia photos.
I can't wait to see them.

Sorry. I can't help with the ID Chuck. The two trees were already in when we bought the house and a couple of weeks shy of giving us our first crop. The skin is yellow when they're ripe, the texture is very smooth, and the flavor is delicate.

I saw your picture and took a look at my pear tree. It is loaded with blossoms but ours are not as big as yours. Might be that we are further north.
We had a real bumper crop last year, but did have the tree pruned last fall, so we were not expecting a big year.
Our pears are usually ripe mid to late August. I don't know how that compares with your season. I believe you have longer days in the summer which undoubtedly affects your harvest.

I wondered what was getting our pears and was surprised to see a Mockingbird (in addition to some other species) pecking away at some. I've also seen rats in the tree at dusk. I may have to try picking them earlier and letting them ripen on the window sill.
Thanks for taking time for this shot Merry.
