I do it all the time ... but from my phone to my mac. (Chances are I've also done it from the pad. They should work the same.) From the 'share' icon use 'airdrop'. That should work. It's sometimes a little tricky. But give it a try.

Export photos to Dropbox and then import on the IMac.

Enable iCloud Sharing on all your Apple devices. OR

Use the Apple Image Capture application that is part of Mac OS. OR

Import to Photos via a cable. OR

Import to Lightroom via a cable.

I’m sure there are many other ways...

The simplest way is to use a Scan Disk with both lightning and usb connectors. Use it as an external hd and transfer the images in either direction.

I upload photos into my photos app. on my Mac. Photos stores the photos in my iCloud account and are accessible by all my apple products; Mac, iPad, or iPhone.

You can use AirDrop. Turn on Bluetooth on iPad and Mac, put on the same WiFi network. Then in Photos on the iPad hit Select, choose photos, and hit the share icon (square with up arrow on it). Select Airdrop and the Mac and the the photos will transfer. Can also plug into Mac, exit iTunes and launch Image Capture. Select photos and hit import

How? UHH member “Randave2001” is directly responding to the OPs question and suggesting that he use a resource that is available to all of us. How is your criticism helping?

The OP is asking for OUR help. I have found UHH members’ advice to be extremely valuable - and I think it is disingenuous for us to discourage questions by sending them to the internet.

And I am not criticizing; I am rather encouraging continued visits here so we all can benefit from each other’s experience.

dis·in·gen·u·ous
/ˌdisənˈjenyo͞oəs/
adjective
not candid or sincere, typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does.
"this journalist was being somewhat disingenuous as well as cynical"
synonyms: dishonest, deceitful, underhand, underhanded, duplicitous, double-dealing, two-faced, dissembling, insincere, false, lying, untruthful, mendacious

Nope, not criticizing at all...

Again, completely irrelevant to the OP’s question. You are making my point and I will not continue this back and forth. This site is for photography. Let’s PLEASE respect that. No more notes to me unless it’s photography-related. Thanks.

When logged in to iCloud on both devices photos show up on both. Sometimes you have to wait for the auto update or do a manual update.

Imazing is a good idea, as is using Image Capture, a very useful and underappreciated program available on every Mac. I personally use Image Capture.

Easiest way is to use Image Capture a program in the Utilities subfolder of Applications. Using this is the only way to download the RAW images if you have chosen to use the HEIC image format (That LR understands). You also get to specify the target folder on your iMac.

The program is really self explanatory if you have used LR or other Mac software.

Your iMac comes with an app called Image Capture. Connect your iPhone to the computer with a USB cord and open the app. Unlock your phone and the image files will appear on the iMac in the Image Capture app. You can then specify where you want them copied to on your iMac.

This app is also useful if you want to bulk erase images from your iPhone.

Without a doubt, the best and fastest way is an app called PhotoSync. Load it on your iMac and in your iPad. Transfer is seamless and incredibly fast. I have used it for several years and I highly recommend it. It’s all done via internet connection so there are no cables. It’s very easy to learn. All you do is select the images on your iPad and click on PhotoSync. Then click PhotoSync on your iMac and you’re off and running.
