I am trying to transfer photos from my ipad into my imac, but having difficulties. The imac recognizes the ipad, but the import doesn't work. Is there anyway that I can import from my ipad into the imac?
Thanks in advance.

Google and YouTube are your friends. Found several articles on how to do this. Give it a try.

Does your iPad show up as an icon on your desktop? If so you should be able to open iTunes and offload your images

I use the app “Imazing” https://imazing.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8Ii52qG24QIV9zLTCh1lBAjfEAAYASAAEgJUMPD_BwE
Drag & drop to/from iPhone/iPad apps, including Photos where the developer has authorized file sharing.
Transferring is very fast, similar to flash drive transfers.

Email would be the easiest, if you don't have too many pics. You can probably backup all your photos in iCloud and download them to your computer.

Well, I guess that is really up to the OP now isn't it? Did you try it? There is not a scarcity of information on this subject out there and therefore I think the OP's inquiry could be taken care of quickly just by using these resources. Was not trying to be snarky in my original response, just trying to teach others there is a great amount of information available to them using these two available resources.

Thanks everyone for the response. I tried to use the icloud, and messed up every thing. I also lost all my photos in the ipad, and hopefully I have to find out where my sd card went.

How? UHH member “Randave2001” is directly responding to the OPs question and suggesting that he use a resource that is available to all of us. How is your criticism helping?

Have you contacted Apple Support? They are experts on Apple products.

Just open the Photos application on your iMac. The photos you took on your iPad or iPhone should be there.

I don't have an ipad but when I plug my iphone into my macbook or my imac the very first thing the opens up is Photos, on the device i plugged it in to, and then it asks me if I want to import the "new" photos.
Thats it. It should be super simple so if thats not happening something else is going wrong.
I will say that Apple support or the Genius store are really good at helping you if its not working the way you thought or the way it should.

Wow that stinks. Unless you did something very, very wrong (and I doubt it) I bet your photos are still around.
You may have to go the Apple Genius Store or Apple Support route. Its not as bad as it sounds they are usually very good and very helpful.
