Here is part 2 of the test day with three of my favorites. These were taken between turn 8/8A (the corkscrew) and turn 9, panning at 1/200.
Fantastic images!!!!
Great work on the panning.
Great captures. A difficult shoot but done well.

Great images - I would find some space on a wall for this set. Well done!
Nice Job and lucky you. Thanks again for showing them.
As a photojournalist/ editor,
I would like to offer a suggestion if you were to consider these for print.
Try to reduce the color saturation and HDR effect to the back-round. The speed effect will benefit greatly from a softer/ less busy flow.
HDR style may be specific for you, so please take this as friendly, and disregard my comment in that case.

Thank you TriX; I appreciate your kind words. It's a real challenge and you bother a lot of electrons for naught, but it's worth it when you get it right.
I’ve attended races at Laguna Seca, and it’s a legendary track for all types of racing. i’d Be interested to know what shutter speed you used and if your lens had VR/IS, if you used it and what mode you were in. Last time I shot SCCA races at VIR, I believe I was shooting at 1/125 or 1/250 and panning with the IS on and in the mode that corrects vertical motion only, but I was farther away from the action than you were.
Great job catching these beauties moving so fast.
Very good set. You really nailed the third shot with just a bit more space on the left side. Well done. Would you share you shutter speed and f-stop info?
Great shots.....wonderful sensation of speed.
Good job with the panning, the blurred background really portrays the speed of the cars. Nice sharp images of the cars themselves.

Thank you for the kind words Manglesphoto. You get a pretty low percentage of keepers, but it's worth it for the good ones.

Thank you yssirk123. I don't print very many photos, but at least one of these is going on the wall.
