Here is part 2 of the test day with three of my favorites. These were taken between turn 8/8A (the corkscrew) and turn 9, panning at 1/200.
Excellent job ... I have to believe it would be a real challenge to get the detail as sharp as you have when they're whizzing by as fast as they no doubt were. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice panning - you got it just right.
Very well done - with the blurred background and the very sharp Indy cars it really shows the speed of the cars.

Good ones.
Thank you Richard. If you ever make it to California and can make it during a race weekend, Laguna Seca is a great track. It's also in a beautiful area that includes Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur; well worth a visit. BTW, Daniel Ricciardo is my favorite F1 driver, along with whomever is driving for Ferrari (I was a big Mark Webber fan also).

Well done
Thank you Shellback; I appreciate the kind words. BTW, my Dad was a Shellback; he spent most of WW II on a heavy cruiser in the South Pacific.

Thank you fbeaston for the kind words; I'm glad you like them. My guess is that they were somewhere around 100MPH and not too far away. It IS a real challenge, and your acceptable rate is pretty low. However all of the bad shots are worth it for the few good ones. Memory is inexpensive and you can take a lot at 7 FPS.
Beautiful photos and camera work!

Thank you TriX; I appreciate your kind words. It's a real challenge and you bother a lot of electrons for naught, but it's worth it when you get it right.

Thank you Dave327; I appreciate your thoughtful comments. Chevy guy I presume?
I've been to the IndyCar race at Sonoma Raceway, which is actually only about an hour away from me; Laguna Seca is just over two hours away. Both are great tracks, but you can get closer to the track at Laguna Seca and it's an iconic track and special place. In many ways, Sonoma is a better spectator track. I attended my first sports car race at Laguna Seca and timed the first race held at Sonoma (Sears Point). I'm fortunate to live so close to both.
