Why?? is the obvious question and the answer is i watched the Alex Jones program on u tube, he backs up what he says and if only a little bit is true then i would be afraid, If I were to become a resident of the USA buying weapons would be one of the first things i would do. I know awful things have happened and looking after your guns security cannot be very important but what you may have to face in the future
isnt nice.

I hope you noticed JR I said If, watching that clip I found it very scary as the military are doing exercises and practicing shooting human waves and laughing it off as shooting zombies.

Just so you know, you've got your nuts too. Here's an article about a UK man threatening to kill 200 students:

Having the gun is one thing; carrying it is another thing; knowing how & when to use it (or not use it) EFFECTIVELY is a very different thing. I fear we've got way too many folks carrying that think a few hours in a classroom and 50 rounds or so on the range have made them an expert.

Well, its been a week or so and our law enforcement people haven't found this killer yet that's true.Your Cops have been looking for Jack the Ripper for over 100 years and the case is still open.Stick that in your pipe and blow it. Sarcasm goes both ways.

Looking from the UK to the US it is sometimes hard to understand the strong desire to own certain types of weapons. We only really have gun issues with the criminal elements in the uk and they tend to use them on each other !

I own shotguns, and have a good understanding of firearms. But I believe a moment has arrived in the US where you will have to re-think the entire issue, especially Military style guns which there is little justification to own.

JR1 tends to interfere in the affairs of another country. Whatever we feel about guns in the UK we should not preach to another country. We have plenty they can come back on, for heavens sake.

I have a suggestion to make. What you guys on the other side of the Atlantic stay where you are and worry about your own problem instead of trying to solve the problems on this side of the Atlantic. You don't have to worry about our criminals and our own gun laws and you don't even have to visit the USA. You might want to stay put, visit or live in other countries in the world where you might feel safer. I don't feel safe at all in London in spite of a zillion cameras with approximately 7 or 8% of muslim population with many radical cells that can massacre hundreds of innocent people as they have done for quite some time.
I would like to see the riots created by a few USA passport dropped at Trafalgar Square by people that would love to come and live here in spite of the so called "Gun problem" that we have. You take care of your problems and we will take care of our. Stop wasting your time criticizing us and take care of your problems that are many.

If you recall History, General Thomas Gage found that an armed civilian force was to his disadvantage.

Sarcasm is fine, but making up stories to suit some agenda or other is not sarcasm.
For the record, we are NOT still looking for Jack the Ripper, we've pretty much accepted that he's probably dead by now. The police at the time were overstreached and despite the efforts of a sensationalist press didn't see the case as deserving of too much of their time. Jack only realised notoriety in the 1930's and 40's thanks to the public's taste for horror, blood and gore (not much different to 'Die Hard' really). In the 1960's when Scotland Yard (Metropolitan Police HQ) was relocated most of the files and any remaining evidence on Jack were destroyed. In the 1970's the public's interest was rekindled by a rash of cheap films.

Gage’s strict enforcement of the Coercive Acts stirred opposition among the populace in Boston. He reacted by declaring martial law in late 1774 and began a program of collecting stores of powder from various militia repositories in the fear that armed force might be used against governing officials. These seizures continued into the following year when Gage dispatched soldiers into the countryside on April 18 to both collect arms in storage at Concord, then apprehend (unsuccessfully) Samuel Adams and John Hancock, arguably the two most vocal opponents of royal authority. The ensuing skirmishes at Lexington and Concord marked the first overt actions in what would become a war for independence.

Even though he once was the most powerful British envoy, he failed miserable to disarm his opponents and guess what, we are a free country thanks to people like him enforcing totalitarism that in some countries have worked but not lasted except Cuba, unfortunately.

Well why not? It seems as reasonable as blaming an inanimate object.
