Enjoyed your photos. I can't believe you took them through a window.

Excellant series Dixiegirl ... I also especially like the "fan tail" on the Male Cardinal ... gorgeous! And for a couple of "ID's" ... I have seen the Virio and Kinglet at my feeders, but had not been able to identify them yet ... so, thank you!

Thanks very much, Larry. I haven't seen the Golden-crowned at our feeder, but the Ruby-crowned is a regular visitor there.

These birds were all shot using the Canon 100-400. I shoot my birds in shutter priority (TV) mode with my shutter speed usually set on at least 400. Since I'm shooting mainly out a window, I set my ISO on at least 1,000 depending on the light outside the window. Any resulting noise is eliminated using Topaz DeNoise.

Love the birds, Was the cardinal dancing?

Thank you, DePratt! It certainly looks like he was, doesn't it? I have an entire series of that bird with his foot like that, but there was nothing wrong. He hopped off using both his feet shortly after I shot those photos :-)
