Programmers have so many options today for creating websites that it will be impossible to find one browser that supports every language. That being said, the hottest programming techniques as of today are HTML5 and Word Press. A majority of the Word Press templates are created with Chrome in mind so Chrome seems to do better with Word Press sites. While Word Press is written in PHP many of the templates use elements of HTML5 for the goodies. HTML5 has the best support from Chrome.

Chrome would seem to be the best all-around browser at the moment but IE10 is far more secure.

There are two major sources of Trojan horses and virus infections on the net: 1. Porn 2. Online games.

I use Chrome. Haven't had the lock-ups you speak of.
IE wouldn't allow me to post photos on UHH.
Good Luck.

I have used Firefox for years and have little to no trouble with it. I also don't subject myself to their upgrades unless I have to. I don't do complicated things so don't need all the add-ons. Simpler is better for me.

About 6 months ago my sons turned me on to chrome, and after much nagging I tried it. Works great and I have not looked back.

someone should make a browser for gamers ~ my wife uses firefox and Chrome for games. It freezes and crashes too !

Me , I have firefox , Safari , google chrome and opera and I don't do games. I let my kids use safari , my grandkids use google chrome and my opera is private ! Firefox , is what I'm using now . That way my stuff is still in order and it doesn't get messed up from others using it !

ON Chrome you indicated "Chrome: seems to work but the random lockups....". I wonder if you are using a PC or a MAC?
I use Chrome with good success on three different MAC's with no lock up problem. I wonder if your problem relates to the PC ?

I avoid CHROME on the simple fact that Google pushes it on everyone and tries to install it in the background of totally non related updates (like Adobe). If you miss the little check box, it magically appears along with Mcafee and who know what other BS software. My one and only real test of the browser was a complete failure with slowdowns and inability to load common sites. Will not support several applications we have at work to this day. Our local IT guy will not allow it to be installed on the office systems. IE or Firefox all the way...

I am searching for the perfect browser for my internet adventures. I feel as if I've been let down.

IE9: somewhat stable but chokes on the new facebook photo viewer.

IE10: works like a charm on the new facebook photo viewer but chokes on other websites from time to time. It is a preview release. Can't play facebook games with IE10.
Laugh if you want to--I used to be a hardcore Sacred Underworld/Sacred Fallen Angel player. Now my gaming consists of Angry Birds and facebook games.

Firefox: latest version has a horrible text rendering issue that makes it all but impossible for me to read(perhaps my eyes have the issue) None of the suggested fixes work.

Chrome: seems to work but the random lockups....

Opera: I love the integrated email client. Does freeze up often.

What are you guys having success with?

Just changed over from IE8 to IE9 found it slower than 8, tried closing all the (add ons) and it straightened 9 out, much faster now. Click on Tools - Manage Add-ons close all of them then try search while adding each one back. That should show you one that is causing the problem.

Chrome works perfectly for me and is much faster for me than IE. couldn't up load pics to UHH until I got Chrome, and now they load instantly. Other apps like Google maps....much faster and free of "jumps".

Gotta vote for Chrome, not one hiccup yet. Put it on as Firefox was slowing down.

Hello hlmichel;

I have been using Opera since the mid to late 90s and just plain love it.
Very customizable,...have found very few websites where rendering is a problem. Sometimes it'll choke on rare occasions,......I just jump over to IE quickly.

I use IE primarily on new OS installs or reinstalls to do my Windows Updates ASAP.

Tried Firefox, and Chrome for awhile,...but was already too acclimated to Opera for keeps.

Have you gone into your FireFox preferences and selected a different default Font,....theres quite a bit of flexibility to work with.
Makes a more enjoyable difference.

I always use Arial Black font overall as I find legibility much better.
Font sizes are also customizable. Sometimes I will go to bold for clarity.
I never liked the stock ones,...look too much like an old typewritter font,...or newspaper print,...hard to read.

Theres some small footprint freeware browsers available if you like experimenting.

Am not a gamer so I cannot comment on inherent conflicts there at all.

Good luck.
Happy New Year
