Thankfully, I live quite close to an Xfinity store, so I just go there for issues. Their phone customer service does suck.

One problem with Amazon is that they also use third party vendors. I purchased an out of print, used book that was marked as being in good condition one time. When I received it, however, it was underlined throughout.

I bought a pair of sneakers from Amazon thru a third party. They didn't fit and the third party wanted me to pay the return cost ~ $16. Amazon said they would take care of it but the 3rd party wouldn't relent. Amazon, returned my money and told me to keep the shoes. Bet that guy wasn't a 3rd party dealer for long.

Amazon is an 800 pound gorilla middle man...

I know a few corporations who do business with Amazon...their contracts are onerous and...tilted in several ways in Amazon's favor....the big kahuna get to make rules...if you want the exposure and distributing network.

I doubt Amazon lost a dime with your scenario...they just kick it back to the producer. They have so many angles in their contracts.

From the view point of the consumer, Amazon looks pretty good. From the companies doing business with Amazon, it's the golden rule. If you don't like their volume and exposure, you don't have to do business with them. They aren't taking advantage of anyone when they sign a contract with terms.

Sadly, no where for it to blow to. And if you were my next door neighbor, and found a box addressed to me, you would return it. No one did. BTW, it was a box about 4" x 5" x 10", which surprised me. Amazon replaced it and it arrived in an bubble pack envelope.

That's right.

Every contract is a choice. Capitalism is a voluntary affair for both parties.

Concerning Amazon.
Twice over last couple of years I have order something that never showed up. To the Point I was told I would Get a refund if not received by certain date.
Both time i got refunds and was told to to keep the items if they showed up.
