Shot late Wednesday afternoon in deep shadows on my deck. This male Great-tailed Grackle takes his evening bath in a shallow watering bowl. Sometimes, after bathing, he emits his typical grackle screech, as captured here. His shiny bill is due to water from his bathing. Deep shadow pull at ISO 12,800.

Wow Bubba!! That is terrific in DL and I have to ask how you managed without noise in this great image at 12,800 ISO?!

Thank you, Rob. I use Topaz Denoise AI for almost every image I process, varying the degree of denoise and sharpening as called for by the shadows on the subject. I also use masks in Lightroom when necessary, principally to create subject and background separation plus bring out subject detail where feasible.
