I don't care how puffed up you are about your own excellence as a photographer, (pro or not), it can't be a good thing to downgrade someone else's work with snarky comments. You know who you are. You don't care that we know who you are.
Sometimes we admire a person simply because we admire their talent or skill as a great photographer, but when they make snarky remarks to someone who is just enjoying photos they made and so happy that they got them, they are stealing that person's joy.
This happens here too often and makes me wonder what kind of person feels good about doing a thing like that!
We may admire your work as a gifted photographer from now on but some of us will surely cease to admire you as the photographer you are, because of your pathetic attitude toward others.
That's all. I truly feel like I have not stepped on any toes that did not deserve it.
To the rest of you, I will keep looking at and enjoying your photos.

That's why we call them trolls, Jo and your will notice that, more often than not, these people rarely, if ever post anything.

Talking smack is so much easier than putting things out there that may no meet their own standards. lol

To answer one question, the person that has a superiority complex loves telling other people what they did "wrong".
To wit, if the person shot it the way the "suggesting person" stated, he wouldn't be his own person, he'd be that person.

As a complement one statement, we might like their photography, but dislike their personality.

Sadly, there are too many people in the world that make me more glad I'm me.
Sometimes it takes stepping on toes to get people's attention.
Other people require a 2x4.

I agree, Jo. There are many images I don't especially care for but I never demean the image or the photographer. If they like it enough to post it then why take away their joy in it? This site is not a professional photo site where we are posting images for sale or to win any contests. It should be fun to post here. There.... I'm done.

Unfortunately the internet emboldens some people. They wouldn’t say that face to face. I don’t have to like a person to respect them. But respecting someone for their abilities or talent doesn’t mean I think they are a great person.

I’ve told my kids that they need to be better than other people. Not because of their name, race or money but in that they will do things other people won’t do and they won’t do things other people will do. And that they don’t tell people they are better, but to keep their mouth shut and let their actions speak for themselves. What annoys me is people that perform “selfless” acts of kindness and generosity but then post on Facebook and twitter telling the world about how kind and generous they were. In those cases they are doing it for themselves and the homeless person they bought a meal for was just a fortune beneficiary of their search for praise.
