Well Cassie came today. Here at 8,30. Of course she’s not really due til 11am, but that’s another story. It’s something to do with the school holidays and auntie babysitting. It’s easier if I just do what I’m told🙁🫣

Then it was time to go to Wendy’s and see her. She’s looking really well. Her feet are looking better, no more holes 🕳️ (craters) in them. It won’t make her walk though, but we’re thankful for any improvement. We had our lunch together. We had 2 crumpets (pykelets) each with a nice bit of lurpak butter on. And I took my own coffee. It’s so cold here today. 12c, had my jacket on. When we’d watched the news 🗞️ I came home. Still didn’t get to see Albert. Maybe next week. I’ve been talking to his picture though.

Did I tell you I had a watts app from Karen on Monday? Well I did and apart from them having to change rooms at the hotel 🏨 thins mainly went ✅ OK

Some days things do not go as planned. I arrived at the thrift store and looked for the wheelchair they promised. It was child's size, no arms, depilated and unsafe for anyone. I did not bring my rollator so I figured I had to look for chairs around the store. Tried to call my friend to say I was in the store. Phones do not work in that building. I found an end table to sit on to wait. Friend showed up late. I am only able to walk for 5 minutes. So shopped one aisle and found a chair in the fitting room. Shopped another aisle and friend grabbed a shower chair from a display. As I sat I felt how wiggly and unsafe that chair was. Shopping in furniture aisle I saw a desk chair I might like. Sat on it and found the chair was a bit under a shelf so as you sat down you got a very sharp painful whap on the back of your head. Gave up shopping and went to checkout. All chairs had been removed from entrance way. Had to painfully go back to fitting room. Could not call Harold as phone doesn't work. Friend went outside and called him. She spoke to the manager. Found out they purposely removed chairs so customers would not linger? Told manage the wheelchair was unsafe and child size. Tough, that is all they had.
I remember this store having benches outdoors where people waited for rides, chairs in lobby, chairs in shoe department, chairs near register. Not now not one chair to be found. This is a store where proceeds go to handicapped.
Next week we are going to goodwill and she assures me there is seating throughout the store. I am also taking my rollator to be safe. Rollator is heavy and we avoid taking it unless we have to.
Actually it was a good day for me. I got out the house. Friend made me realize I had not been in a store in almost three years. I had not gone in stores because of covid for two years and I had not been in stores since January 2 this year.
I was feeling so good I went online and chatted with Claire from sleep number beds. Ordered a new bed and found in the 11years since I bought my last bed they had gone up $2,000.00. That is okay I am worth it.
Some days things do not go as planned. I arrived a... (show quote)

Hey well done you jinx. You ARE coming on aren’t you, you’ve had such a raw deal. What is a rollator.I imagine it to be a pushing trolly with 4 wheels on. If it is it would be a walker here. I’m definitely going to get one but it will be a while yet I hope. I’m ok with car 🚙 and stick. Sue (DIL) is taking her stick to York….

Rollator is a walker with a seat. I push it as a walker to the place I need to be and then sit on it. Do not use it at home just for when I need to walk a long distance. I do sometimes use a walker at home rather than a stick as it is easier on one's arms as you use both arms with a walker and only one arm with a stick.

They are trying to change the lyrics to O Canada again. They are trying to change "our home and native land" to "our home ON native land" I guess Canadians don't have a native land. Certainly doesn't feel like it at times.
There is also talk at the federal level of paying "rent" to the aboriginal groups. That was already supposed to be happening according to the native treaties, but hasn't happened since the 1900s.

When I was about ten the words, "Under God" were added to our pledge of allegiance. For many years now people have been trying to have those words removed.

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 7:03 am EST and 16'C (61'F) going up to 32'C (90'F). There is some high wispy cloud now.
The summer forecast is out and this area is expected to have a cooler than normal summer with an average amount of precipitation. Haven't seen that yet.
The robins have abandoned their 2nd nest in the rose bush between the houses. I think the female robin has moved on with another partner because the male was in the back yard singing for another partner this morning. The grackles have finished their once per year nesting and have produced 3 young. They parked them under one of the feeders yesterday so they could eat the seed that had fallen on the ground. One of the young grackles was eating sticks. The bunny has a male following her patiently but persistently around the yard.
Work was slow again, so I got some knitting done. I also spent over 3 hours on one problem, and still didn't solve it.
Premier Ford has expanded fox hunting outside of the 24 areas where it was allowed. Fox hunting is now allowed every where in the province and conservationists are complaining because a lot of coyotes have been killed during these hunts, mistaken for the fox. (Get a clue, the fox is red!) I'm thinking like most hunters, these guys are shooting anything that moves, which is why I always wear something with safety orange when I walk in the woods. This situation is going to get worse until someone is killed.
The battery factory that was supposed to be constructed near Windsor is still halted. They have received promises of $19Billion CAD from the federal and provincial governments, but apparently they approached the US and the US has promised them even more, so the building that has already cost $5Billion may never be completed if the US outbids our governments, which is highly likely, and this building will sit empty, just like our vaccine factory that did EXACTLY the same thing.
Fires are banned in the woods up north so anyone camping will not be allowed to light a fire at night. The authorities don't want a forest fire like is happening on our east and west parts of this country. We have had no rain for almost 2 weeks now, so it's starting to get dry out there.
I'll be taking DD's socks to Knit Night tonight because I have inches of boring knitting to do on them.

Good morning from a 45F and clear Shoreline area. No plans for the day today, so will get on with my knitting at some point. Went for a long ride with Mr Ric yesterday that took up most of the afternoon and early evening. Was nice to get out of the house for a good long while. I hop you all are staying safe and well and having as good a day as you can. xxxooo

I need to chop off my hair. I like having enough length for a pony tail so I can pull my hair away from my face for the summer, but I have a very HEAVY pony tail at the moment.
I hope you are all neat and tidy after your hair cut.

That seems to happen all the time now. The appliances wait until the warranty is over to break.
I hope the repairman is able to fix it without a lot of cost to you.
