I agree, it's not GAS, it is essential!! I'm really going to use this statement from now on.
Thanks for the solution!

Hobbies seldom make sense but they bring so much joy. My images from my iPhone or with a FF are worth every penny spent many times over.

Enjoy the hobby and your new lens!

Congrats on making me a bit jealous.

That is exactly what Canikon and others are doing - and very few of their products are used by REAL photographers = only by label worshipers and posers.

That is an incredibly pessimistic viewpoint but if what you said was even remotely true the lens and camera would have Z's on them but whatever, you are entitled to your opinion.

That's my most used lens.

Thank you, Grahame. I bought the 24-70mm f2.8 last year because a vast majority of my landscapes were in that range.

The IQ is superb.

Yea, years ago I used to be spellbound by stuff like that.

I decided some time ago that I wanted some top-notch gear before I retire since it is unlikely that I will be able to afford it after the fact.

I bought one a couple of years back when Nikon ran a sale with $450.00 off. Still cost 2 grand but it is my mack daddy lens.

I really got it for an Alaskan cruise. I hope it will have enough reach...
