As nearly as I can tell, they are not an authorized dealer for any major camera brand... not one.

I know a lot of people purchase from B&H but buyer beware. I was in the market for a D500 and went to B&H… to buy new. They sent the camera but I noticed the serial number on the box did NOT match what was on the camera. After contacting them letting them know this was a used camera and serial numbers didn’t match up they refused return/refund because camera serial and box didn’t match?!! After many calls and arguments someone finally believed me that they sent it this way… I was able to get a full refund. I will never buy/trust them again. Long story short… check your serial numbers against box…always.

I have heard many weird and unpleasant things said about Abe’s but have never purchased from them so no direct experience from which to comment about them.
FWIW when buying new I have either bought in a local brick and mortar, Adorama sometimes and have been very pleased with KEH when they have exactly what I want in top shape. Their rating system has always seemed accurate to me.
I’ve never had a problem with any of these three. Keeps it simple for me.

My husband fell for their “sale” prices when he purchased a new canon mark iv 5d a few years ago. Turns out there was some thing (I can’t remember exactly what) about the camera being an “import” so there was no warranty; that would be an additional purchase. Appreciate your post.
