Was web surfing the internet this afternoon when I ran across an ad that Abe's of Maine posted. I know this camera company like to scam the customers so I thought I would warn you of there lastest so called scam they are trying to get the people to purchase.
This ad shows a Sony RX10IV camera New Condition for $1229.00. According to the website ad this is a new never used camera that they are selling and the ad will stop running in 8 hours once you are looking at it. There is a timer showing how much time you have left to purchase this item. They are forcing you to purchase this item is a certain amount of time of you will not be able to purchase this item after the ad ends.
So I just want to warn all the members of UHH about this deal that they are trying to sell the customers. I hope no one buys this camera from them. Who knows maybe B&H may honor that price and if they do it would be a great deal from them.

Now if you purchase this warranty from Abe's of Maine you could have purchased a new camera without buying a service warranty from B&H Camera or any other American Camera Companies and your purchase will come with a 1 year Sony American Factory Warranty free but your purchase will cost you a few dollars more once you have added the Abe's of Maine warranty you choose plus the price of the camera.

Have a look at Abe's of Maine if you really want low prices.
Forcing??? They aren't forcing me to do anything!!!
Perhaps, like the practice of so many oriental rug dealers, the sale period will start anew once the current eight-hour period has expired.
There's always the option for those that don't want to be 'forced' to make a decision in 8 hours, use the wife's web surfing device to access it again from the start

I've bought equipment from Abe's many times because their prices are low. They will try to sell you additional warrantees or other items with your purchase, but you can keep saying no and you will still get the sale at the price originally quoted. You don't have to but any of the additional items or extended warrantees.

You are correct. If they are still running these ads, they must be successfully getting VOLUNTEERS to hand over their money willingly.
Places like this would not exist if people were not sending them money to buy their goods.
Try to collect on abes warranties and let us know how that works out
The timer is likely just a "cookie" trick. Delete the cookie, or open the page in a different browser
and the timer starts over....and Abes? Fuggitabout it.

That damn bridge is still for sale?
Scarcity and Calls to Action are the two most commonly used marketing ploys. "While supply lasts", and "Sale ends XXX" have been proven to produce more sales because the customer's psyche is "not to miss out". Coupons are issued with an expiration date for the same reason...use it or lose out on the deal.
Price reduction is the old reliable marketing ploy. Save Hundreds should signal that if a retailer can sell it for that low price today, why did they sell it for much more yesterday? By the way...is there ever a day that mattresses are NOT on sale..?

How have your purchases worked out? The UHH consensus appears to be don’t go near them.

If it works for you, fine, but I hope you realize that if you don’t buy the extended warranty you’ll have no warranty at all.
Abe's does offer low prices, but there is a reason for that. Actually, there are many reasons, mainly gray market and "missing parts." "Oh, you want a charger? That'll cost extra."
The camera companies control prices, so if someone is selling at a low price, beware!
