Joe, this is a terrific idea for the challenge. And thanks for hosting. You have us off to a wonderful start with these first groups of yours. I especially love the flowers and the zoo photographs; they are spectacular! I must have a few in my archives to show how I improve my mood in winter, (something necessary, according to my wife) while golf season is dormant . I will hunt through my storage.
Tony
Thanks for looking, Tony
I'm glad I found photography again 20 years ago to keep me busy
Before that, I would have had pictures of empty beer cans
I take on arm and lapfuls of foster kittens. Of course I do this year round but in winter it is especially cozy.

Joe, these are fantastic!!!
Thanks for making me blush, Pat
For about eighteen years (until 2020), I was taking pictures at the rate of about 400 a week (digitally), mostly flowers. A couple years back, I decided I wanted to try BIFs, and that's what I have been doing since then. Of course, many other kinds of subjects too. But when I go to my "archives" and check things from waaay back, they blow me away
I had a Sony with a Zeiss lens and a Panasonic with a Leica one. I love my Nikons now, but they just lose something in comparison to the earlier shots with the 6Mpx cameras and the great lenses.

The design of vehicles surely made these "head turn worthy". IMHO - today, very few are works of art but rather a testament to engineering.
You would probably never get down to Indiana, but if you are ever near Fort Wayne, it's pretty close to Auburn. That's where they have an Auburn/Cord/Deusenberg museum featuring these huge 6,000-pound gems that just take your breath away. Not only that, the museum covers the history of cars in the US, so they have many others that a person couldn't even imagine. I went there about five times, and each time, I hyperventilated for about ten minutes after entering - there was so much magnificence everywhere you looked.

Up here, places like this are best visited between tourist seasons. The grasses shot is splendid
I try to hit those places during times when nobody's there

Joe, these are just superb - and you're full of ideas.
You can take the phrase "full of ideas" and substitute a variety of words in place of "ideas," and still be correct

And I still go out and play....
Pat, you are braver than I am to go out wandering in this weather. The selfie is nicely done, however. Keep working on those snowflakes; they are tough to catch just right.

I don't get sick of winter until about mid-March. I've always liked winter and it's beauty. Not real fond of shoveling, but I definitely have learned to drive in it - nurses have to get to work (not any more for me -retired) Some activities (like skiing) are no longer part of my mood lifter, but snowshoes and walking still are. I use the season to pursue my attempt at capturing a perfect snowflake with less than the appropriate equipment. I also spend time at track meets watching my grandson and his buddies and use time to try learning editing techniques, catching up on photo update videos...I do other things to keep my spirits up, but that's quite enough for today.

I love that shot with the B&W/color combination🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈. Two bad you couldn't catch a little kid with a single snowflake on their tongue or hand... 🙂

Lastly, to stay "warm" in winter, I visit our area zoos, which are always great spots for getting shots of LIFE!
Joe, Thanks for hosting and also for posting these absolutely unbelievably beautiful opening sets. The orchids are fabulous and, even though I'm not a car aficionado, your car photos are works of art. No wonder birds improve your mood. Your pictures do the same for me. And...the reptiles. You even catch their beauty. You are an artist and capable technician. Thanks for sharing.
