Good morning from sunny Surrey. Temperatures have dropped so we may need to put the heating on for a boucle of hours in the morning. With big south facing lounge windows we don't need it on all day atm.

Ran a patchwork bowl workshop yesterday at Creative Chaos. Great fun and lots of lovely bowls.

Girls coming this afternoon for coffee, cake, craft and chat.

Happy Tuesday everyone and stay safe xxx

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:41 am EDT and 11'C (52'F). The forecast is overcast with showers and a high temperature of 16'C (61'F).
Yesterday was the day that the last of the covid restrictions were removed. Masks are no longer required on trains and planes. Travellers no longer need to be vaccinated to cross the border. Although someone at border patrol did not get that message when American electrical workers tried to cross to the maritimes to help with recovery. A supervisor cleared them to cross and they are now up here helping restore the electrical grid. Half of the homes who had their electricity knocked out, have been reconnected by army guys and electrical team from as far as Ontario. I saw video of heavy equipment lifting the HUGE trees that had fallen on the streets. One of the coast guard boats is going along the coast of Newfoundland to check on villages that have been cut off since the roads and some bridges were washed out.
The owner of the LYS has posted some teaser pictures of the new store. It's huge! There are shelves and racks of yarn as far as the camera could reach. She didn't photograph everywhere because there is still some construction going on to get the check out desk functional. They will be operating for online sales until they get their occupancy permit, expected later this week.
It took me 2 hours to get my work laptop working yesterday. All my usual tricks didn't work this time. I eventually got it working by putting my laptop into tablet mode, then it was willing to work with my full size keyboard, mouse and 1 of the two monitors. I couldn't get the 2nd monitor working at all. Work was busy until 2pm. Then there was nothing. I did meet one new person from the department across the hall.
I didn't get any knitting done because Princess decided to pin me down on the couch and I couldn't reach my knitting at all. She and Tazzie did get lots of pets.

Happy Tuesday. Enjoy your afternoon meetup.
Mum ended up turning off the heating yesterday as parts of the house got too warm.

Good morning all from a dull and cold Norfolk, 4C in the wind. Boiler man is here, we had a sticking valve which was why the heating was heating was playing up. Two batches of bread proving so now catching up here. Will be shattered by dinner time. Have a good day and still stay safe. xx

Didn't you make stew yesterday? Warm bread with lots of butter and stew sounds like a good meal for a chilly day.
I hope the boiler man gets your heating all fixed, but it sounds like you will be warm in the kitchen with the bread baking.

We always switch the heat off before we go to bed unless temperatures are really low. xx

I have a programmable thermostat. It has different temperatures for night and day, and even has weekend settings. Although I don't use that since someone is always in this house every day.

Dh worked for lowes for almost 20 years and it has went downhill since all this, I know supply issues isn’t their fault but the way they handled it is and their deliveries have gone third party so that’s not helpful either!

It sounds like customer service training was one of the things cut.

I haven’t gone to s and b today. The two girls that I sit with weren’t going, they are both on their holidays. I could join someone else, but I can’t be bothered. Karen texted me, did I need a drink? Of course I did! Had good bit chat and told her just what Josephine and me got up to last week. I got an extra cuddle from Brie, the 🐶 I think she’d missed me, or it could have been the treats in my pocket…..

The weathers better this afternoon than morning. It really is vest wearing weather today. Andrew had been to the beach 🏖 to take Brie for a walk and he said he froze. He still wears shorts 🩳 so they don’t help. I dropped some chocolate 🍫 ice 🧊 lolly on my iPad, so I’ve had to get it off.

Hugs to all and you especially poorly sisters 👯‍♀️. Stay safe, love yawl. Xxx

Brie propably wanted both the cuddles and the treats.
Save that ipad. They're too hard to replace

It wasn't too bad, scampi and chips and as I'd got everything out the freezer before I realised what time DH's appointment was so have made a stew for tomorrow so that's all ready. xx

I haven't had scampi and chips for a long time. Yum.

My prize from the yarn crawl arrived yesterday. The kitties loved the huge box. The swift was the kind with a base instead of the clamp type. I'll have to talk to the owner of the LYS to see if it is possible to convert the base. The ball winder arrived in pieces and has to be assembled, but since I have a heavy duty metal winder, this one will stay in its box for a while. The swift is pretty with two different colours of wood.

It looks like the rain has let up for a bit so I am going to go feed the birds and squirrels while I can.
Everyone stay safe and have a good day.

Yes, just had to heat the stew up, might squeeze another meal out of it if I bulk it up with potatoes and suet dumplings. Heat is going great now, bread rolls done and cooling so I have decreed that this afternoon is knitting (isn't it always). xx
